I second the notion that you could make a lot doing pet portraits on commission. A friend does this and makes six figures. And hers are not near as nice as yours!

(in my ignorance) to me they seem more suited and styled towards the macro libraries. I'd look into some of them

Agreeing with Lisa on this one. Wildlife is tough!  the market is in fact oversaturated and its one of these fields where many buyers actually look for a specific photographer.
You got nothing to lose in trying out Alamy, Alamy is much older and have been established longer then any micro. You will just drown and fade away in the bigger Micros, so yes I would go for some of the smaller ones that can offer you more.

No way you would do any near that good with that kind of work with Alamy or the Micros as you do now with Getty. Take the review times as a minor hassle and consider yourself lucky!
