Topic: Rejection Question

MSG folks- Recently I have been getting a lot of rejections on my isolated objects on white due to the following -

"The area occupied by the isolated subject is too small, and by cropping the resulting image is under 3 Megapixels"

I think they mean 3 MB in size since my camera is 18 MP.  A lot of my single objects (such as a coin) are going to be under 3MB in size for sure. The company (DT) requires that I remove excess white space thus even making the pic smaller in size. Any ideas? Do I basically have to do a macro shoot to insure my file size it over 3mb?

Thanks.

Tom

the thing is that the object is very small looking at the all frame, you need to crop it more close, there is no min size

When they say 3 megapixels, that's exactly what they mean.  File size isn't the issue; resolution is.  How big are the images they're rejecting (pixel width x height)?

If you're shooting small objects, either you're going to need to use a macro lens (or the macro mode on a fixed lens camera) to make them fill the frame or at least fill enough of it to exceed the minimum pixel count after cropping; or you're going to have to put several of those objects in the picture.

Bingo! Thank you guys for this one! I don't remember the exact size for 3mp but will find out soon to ensure my pics are the right size!

Once again thanks.
