I have been looking in to Microstock a lot over the last couple of week and just wanted to share a conclusion with you.
With no images on SS and FT, and 3 at DT? No thanks. Another referral hunter? Jarrod, I assume. For dumping your referrals in every thread, you are at least 2 years to late. Ploink.

I think you'll find most of the people who participate in this forum have been slogging at this for years, and are some of the most experienced people in the industry.  They are very far from being beginners looking to click on referral links.  IME those who are not are here to learn from the masters; check for the latest information; measure their progress in the wider context, and/or generally discuss the industry.

When it quacks like a duck, it looks like a duck, it walks like a duck... I assume it's a duck. If you are posting SS referral links in the message body with no images on SS at all, you're most probably a duck referral hunter.
For every new site I try to find referrals on the forum, but I can find them very well myself. As to a "conclusion" about the state of the industry, I enjoy reading people with more than 0 images on SS.

what is it with you lot.

A) this is the 'newbies' section

B) I came here looking for information as a newbie so it can't all be industry pro's

c) give me a break!

Cheers guys

Um, ok. I'm a newbie, but I agree with FD and rubyroo. Look anywhere on this forum and it is solid info that in order to make money, you have to get in shutter stock. This isn't newish info.

Yes it is the newbies section - which I missed, because I just read the new subjects on the 'home' page, and don't pay much attention to the section they're in... so I apologise for that... but I still stand by what I said, and I think FD and Blufish are also making excellent points here.

I confess that I also get a bit fed up when this amazing resource of enormous and considered experience occasionally starts looking like a marketplace for 'get rich quick' schemes.  Forgive me if I misjudge the situation, but offering advice and pushing referral links after 'a couple of weeks' comes across that way to me.   Just my view - you may feel you're just being pragmatic - perhaps I'm a mug to have such principles.  Each to his own.   Smiley

Your post comes accross as an excuse to post a referral link rather than help anybody. You'll find around here that referral link spamming doesn't go over too well.

Hello fellow beginners.

I have been looking in to Microstock a lot over the last couple of week and just wanted to share a conclusion with you.

Shutterstock appear to get you way, way more sales than all the rest.  I suggest you start submitted your pics there straightaway as it should speeds up your returns.

Be nice, I just discovered that my web hosting includes a free blog. Problem is I don't care to write for clicks and spam up my site with misleading scam links. They should have called them Blabs not Blogs.  Grin

It's bad enough that I have a Make Money With Microstock link in my Sig. line.

Ahh, you beat me to it.

Speaking of beating... What are you doing Monday Night? I'll be watching the Packers take down the Bears.  Wink

Oh well, I'm not into blue movies any more. Then I don't have a TV. And more important, I have tickets for the Liechtensteiner Chamber Orchestra that night, playing works of Johann Adolf Schicklgruber on a freshly tuned water harmonica with the Choir of Kant's Kritik der Reinen Vernunft and Ratzinger's delight à la façon de Schopenhauer. I could spam around my ticket referral links but I guess I can make more at the entry of the Concert Hall. I'll try to blog some good Editorial on Twitter from there. Roll Eyes
