It starts tomorrow. I can't wait! It's been to years since the world cup and I really miss hanging out in outdoor cafes with my dawgs, drinking beer having fun and just messing around poking each other about their teams (that lost) etc.

Which country is your fav? Portugal is mine, because they are the "European Brazilians" looking at their style of play, really mouthwatering football that they're playing. I like England (mostly because I watch premier league all the time and also because Stevie G is the captain) as well and Netherlands.

Yeah I heard they were pretty dismal in the last 2 friendlies and that the manager isn't too good as well. But I still hope the most beautiful style of football wins, they'd really deserve it, after all you've got so much stunning individual, it's not only CR7, but also Nani, Meireles etc.

I am a big football fan, but only for a couple of years now. But I've always watched EC and WC, it really is something special, olympics can't come even near it for example. Lately even a lot of girls are watching the games, so it becomes even more interesting :)

true, woman are becoming more and more sports fan and I guess soccer in particular (believe its not only about players legs or other) perhaps they got sick of going to shopping or staying in home when man are out having a few beers watching their teams

the other great thing of watching here in Portugal is the stunning weather, we have tons of big screens around the famous squares and its just a stunning atmosphere, sure other capitals have this kind of show too

Soccer? Lol, you sound like an American. I dunno what got into them, but loosing interest for shopping (at least window shopping) is surely not it ;) . But I like it, the atmosphere is different and they don't always come, so you can easily have a boys night as well. A perfect combination, I'd say.

Yeah, Iberian peninsula seems to be the only place in Europe that has normal weather this spring. And the climate is always nice in Lisbon. I've been there a couple of years ago. We too have lots of bars with big screens, a town square too, but usually just for the big games. After all football is (as many say) the second most important thing in the world ;)

ahah that said lets continue the futebol talk :D I am never very positive and I believe most players like you have talked about are really good, CR is certainly the star of the stars but we portuguese always think that he does play very well in his club not for Portugal, I hope he continues as strong as in Real ;D

we have a very difficult group too, cant wait to see how it goes...

He was insanely good in la liga, 46 goals :o . Indeed, just like Messi, can't score for Argentina as well (Higuain and others have to do the job, but they really have a ton of top drawer strikers).

Yes, the group of death. I hope Portugal and Netherlands advance to quarterfinals

not an easy group yep, the problem with Portugal is the first 10 minutes, if they score its all good, if not its a disaster, I believe we will do insanely bad on the first game like always but after that we will learn the lesson.. portuguese team kind of give up if other team score, not like most of other big teams :-\

Ibro is good, but someone should break his bubble; he thinks he's the best in the world :) . His mentality is similar to Balotelli's.

I like Larsson, great player.

I couldn't watch it, I had a training, but would watch the game anyway. Greeks are not watchable, it's a great shame such a team won the tournament in 04. I'm watching Russia: Czech republic right now. Poor football again, at least when it comes to Czech and their defense (looks like 8th graders are playing on those positions:), not up to the task

exactly, Greece is just too much, for me football is all in the attack not the way they play it but today they kind of made some good attacks too

I've watched the highlights only, but they were mostly showing only yellow cards, penalty kick etc. Chealsea can play attractive football at times as well. Most mostly they're so hard to watch, they're playing boring, disciplined, robot alike football, like the Germans, and are mostly just defending, especially if they're in the lead, they have all of the players on their half all the time, 10 out of 11 in the box. And they've won the CL. I just hope that because of that teams won't be playing in such a way. I like attacking, open football as well, that's why I'm a Tottenham fan. And that's why I like Portugal, Netherlands and England. Besides Greece, Spanish team is also very hard to watch, they're even worse than Barca (I can't stand their style of play). I was checking the schedule, so many good games in the next few days.

The Russians played very nicely yesterday.

I'm a big Germany fan, because of the tactical soccer they play. But i guess it's not always as nice to watch. Today is going to be a good game (Germany - Portugal)!!!

Do you guys also play soccer, or just watch?
