Just heard about this place so kind of checking it out right now. Anyone else heard of it.. on it... thoughts about it? Internet rumor mill seems to have this site as the place pros go to when leaving Flickr.  ???

Seems that you even get a Personal Store with the paid membership. As far as what they sell (prints or digital) I don't know yet. Might be something to check out if the store features a good cut of the percentage. Go more investigation to do on it to see if I want to roll on to there with anything.

Just clicked on a random image's "buy" link. No Watermark (actually a term of having the store... no watermark) on a nice sized file.... and then read what I see in the top right....lol.

"You are buying a 24 by 36 inches (landscape) Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print for $207.99. Your purchase includes an HD Download (1920x1080). Remember, it is for personal use only. If you have any questions about the licence, please read the licence information. Your canvas print will arrive in 7-14 business days."

Site looks nice but I think I am going to pass.

I am on 500px but its the same crap as Viewbug and Flickr. Its all for personal use but I cant be bothered to put any time in those sites, I am not seeing the return. But my photos are not top notch either.

500px is a big fat pile of *.

nobody is buying anything there, it's just a bunch of snotty amateurs using HDR and top notch gear and then telling each other how good and uber skilled they all are.

it's a F joke, just like Flickr but a lot worse, they really take themselves too seriously, there's people there spending 20K on camera gear without having ever sold a single photo for half a dollar !

in plus, no watermarks, big images ready to be grabbed away by freeloaders, and low prices in case some fools even goes as far as wanting to buy a print.

it's the same stuff you see on photo contests, and guess what it's usually the same stuff that hardly ever sell on stock and even in art galleries .. typical "academic" stuff ! looking good but not good enough to be sold.

If the requirements are 20K plus for equipment I guess I cannot join the 500 club  :(

I've been doing well on Flickr and have eyeballed 500px for a while... what I don't get is the total lack of community on there. It's kinda weird that there are no forums or groups or anything else to keep people on the site longer.
