This reminds me a lot of our local portrait competition. I love it when I'm out on location and see a photographer with a huge monster telephoto and they are shooting some type of portrait client or family ... we can't help stopping to sit back and laugh while they try to direct from 20 feet away LOL .. sadly we see this a lot in the summer around the city.
