I don't know if it is well known, but it's news to me: B&H Photo is accepting Paypal.

A good way to reinvest my earnings....

Regards,
Adelaide

A while ago they had a sale where if you used Paypal to pay, you got a discount.  Not sure if they are still doing that, but thought I'd pass along the heads up.

Now that's good news, it's always handy for folks not in the US to be able to bring their micro earnings home as good rather than money...  Keeps Mr Tax man at bay.  (My name is Yuirikov danismov, I live in Kazicstanibob!  Grin)

yeah that is a really great thing for us, except there is a catch - it only works for those in the US and Canada Sad .... ie not me.

Hmm, I must check that.  We have a special page for Brazil there (can you believe that?), so I wonder if we're not included.

A side-note: the oldest synagogue in the Americas, from the 16th century, is in Brazil (it's a museum now).  The Jewish immigrants that built it, originally from Netherlands, eventually moved to Nieuwe Amsterdam, today New York.  So, had they stayed here, we would have all those fascinating photo stores they have in NYC.  Cheesy

I believe B & H and Adorama both are owned by Jewish families.  They don't accept orders from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday (I'm not Jewish but I believe that's during the Sabbath) and both stores were shut down during Passover.

yeah it is nice to see that some stores still put things other than money first.... especially online stores who don't really have to 'work' to keep the store open, even if they don't send things out.

Surprising that they actually refuse to let people place orders on those days Smiley  nice I think!!

Last year I used Paypal with B&H to order a camera and a lens and the amount went over $1600.  A few moments later,  I got a call from a Paypal rep asking about the transaction.  Apparently, they were watching and have that amount flagged (over 1k?) to I assume, help prevent fraud.  This hasn't happened on any of my other orders using Paypal, all of them being under 1k.   At the time, I wondered if I would be charged some kind of fee for this type of service, but was not.

I tried to buy something at B&H a few weeks ago using PayPal, and the transaction wouldn't go through until I verified my street address.  I tried over and over and over again to get the two addresses to match up without any luck.  Adorama ended up getting my business.
