Topic: BlueHost.com - Any Experience with this Web Host?

Saw the BlueHost.com ad here and took a look as I am looking to open up some new domains. The deal seems almost too good to be true. Does any have any real experience here or horror stories to tell?

Not really unhappy with my present hosting, but always looking at new possible options.

Thanx.

Hi

I have a number of sites with bluehost.  I was originally hosting everything with siteground but have been moving stuff over to bluehost recently.

I like that they have free unlimited add-on domains, so you can host a ton of sites easily with them under one hosting account at no extra charge.  I can't really vouch for the unlimited traffic thing as the sites I host with them are not very well visited.. but the ones I do have with them are working well.  otherwise they seem like any other host with cPanel, ftp and the regular stuff ... They don't have a catch all email filter though, if you need that.  I had to use an MX entry to change where the email was sent.

I have thought about moving microstockgroup there, but dread the head ache involved in getting everything transferred.

Ok, you sold me. The new sites I have planned will be high traffic, so I'll PM you if there are any downsides. The domain management seemed just too good to be true at that price, thus the query.

Yes I hear you on moving MSG over there. Although not quite a nighmarish hell, it would be a pain to get everything thrown over.

Thanks for your quick reply. I will get the new stuff up on BH and will see how it goes.

Brian Ibbott hosts the website for his Coverville podcast on BlueHost.  It's a reasonably busy site, with a modest forum.  BlueHost is a sponsor for his show, but I doubt he'd be hawking their wares if he wasn't getting good service there.

I think Bluehost and Hostmonster are the same company.

I use hostmonster for all of my websites, and it's my recommend host for clients. I've dealt with some crappy hosting companies before, and have had no trouble with hostmonster at all. Great service, exceptional support. Definitely recommend them.

But I can chime in again and say that I am still satisfied with bluehost <- if I wasn't typing on the iPad I would go and find a referral link  Smiley
