Firefox 4 was just released.

It looks like it is much faster with lots of goodies to figure out...

Seems really good, it was in beta so long, I think they have ironed out all the problems. I dabbled with chrome but went back to firefox because they have great add ons and I like that they aren't a big company, like google and microsoft.

I was all set to install and then realized that Cool Iris doesn't yet work with Firefox 4 on the Mac - coming soon, whatever that means.

I then decided to hold off for now as I don't know if there's a compatibility checker to see which of my add ons will or won't work with Firefox 4 and I don't want to have to go check each one. Sean's greasemonkey scripts, the EXIF reader, how does it do with ICC profiles.

I looked at Mozilla's short video, but it was virtually content free, essentially saying it's wonderful and faster.

Does anyone know of a list of stuff that works with Firefox 3.6.x that isn't supported any more with 4.x?

I don't know of any such list, but GreaseMonkey is certainly fine with FireFox 4 - or at least, it is under Windows. Faster too, Sean's scripts run much more cleanly.

Everything else I have is OK with the exception of Google Gears, which is used by iStock if available but isn't necessary.

Probably best if you list what you have installed and ask if anyone knows if any of them have problems.

I like it. It is almost as slick and fast as Chrome, but I am not seeing the bugs and compatibility issues I run into with Chrome. Like any browser change, it takes time to get comfortable with where everything is. It looks like a big winner to me and I just made it my Default Browser (was Chrome).

I don't have a list - but I do have a similar problem. I like having my little FoxClocks globe at the bottom of the browser, so I can check what time it is in other countries at any point in the day (particularly when an image just sold). Not yet compatible with Firefox 4, and I'd miss it too much.
