3h after midnight.  Because my mother couldn't make it to the building top (it takes a helical staircase to get there), we went watch fireworks from the ground.  Not the same thing.  Too many heads in front of my camera!  I tried to zoom it to get the heads out of view, but then my chances of picking the explosions were reduced.  And there was so much smoke so soon...  Got a couple of decent shots, dozens of basically poor shots, and a few videos.

Anyway, a beautiful show. They say 2 million people were here at the beach. You can see photos here:

oh lucky you, at least it was nice enough and clear enough for you to go outside to enjoy the fireworks.
over here, it was nice and sunny for christmas and all the snow was gone,
until 30 minutes before midnight, we had this tempest of a blizzard .
BY the time 2009 came, i could hear teenagers screaming happy new year
and the fireworks in the distance, but couldn't see a thing as my windows were then covered with ice and snow .
i look through a crack in the window and saw 3 girls in dress shoes trying to walk through the snow and strong winds. (they went out dressed to party for the mild weather we had earlier no doubt).

woke up this morning and still cannot see much . only hearing the sounds of wind. wow, 2008 sure cannot stop being cranky !

Now we wait for 2009 to come... It's here according to my watch and calendar,
but looks like 2008 just won't let 2009 come in...
oh go away , you mean , volatile and nasty 2008 !!!!    Shocked
