Hi guys!

Any Japanese speaking people out there? I don't know the japanese language, but I wanted to give my robot a japanese name (something cute and catchy to both japanese and english speaking people). I'm making a series of him, and I thought it might be nice to attribute a name to him. (Or is this bad from a microstock point of view? I don't think it is).

The japanese are leaders in robotics, so I thought it would be a great idea. Any thoughts? Its just for fun. Thanks.

Call him Kai, my Japanese best friends brothers name.  He looks like a Kai, he's very cute.

I would suggest her Dad's name, Yoshi, but that's already kinda been done!   Grin

I'll save the name Yoshi for the Dinosaur he rides Smiley

KAI is awesome! I'll look up that name in baby names to see what it means. Good name though!

Kai means "The Earth" in Japan and "The Sea" in Hawaii.  Best of both worlds!

He's very, very, very cute, I want a print of him.  Cheesy  Can't wait to see what you do with him!

Hey, that makes sense! I remember Kai being used a lot in Hawaii. Makes perfect sense. Kona Kai, etc.

Kawaii means cute in Japanese. Pronounced "Ka Why Yee". Kwai means scary so thats good too. Kawaiikai? Kwaikai? Maybe that's too much... It's a nice robot anyway.

There must have been some interchange between the Hawaiian islands and the japanese language -- many of the terminologies sound the same. Now if only I knew how "Spam Musubi" was coined.

Well, its a tough one.

So far on the list I have the ones mentioned: Kai, Kawaii, (and the conjunction)

Koyo (my stepfather suggested the name because it sounded Japanese and by coincidence actually a word relating to leaves)

My mother came up with "Masahiro" from an online japanese name site, (means big hero or something).
