Someone has offered me a real gig.  Trouble for me is that they want finished results at 300 dpi - minimum size print 8" x 10".  Well, my li'l ole Panasonic only shoots in 72dpi and when I convert it to 300dpi after the fact, 100% prinit is only about 6" x 8".  I am quite sure it wouldn't work to upsize the resolution (my max is 2560 x 1920) before resetting the dpi to 300 during postprocessing.

Therefore, I am considering doing a camera rental for this shoot.  Where is the most cost effective camera rental place?

 Hey Riffmax,

Send CDWheatley a PM he might be able to point you in the right direction he lives in Florida. You might google camera shop for your biggest pro camera rental shop but I would imagine there are several to choose from unless you are quite remote. I found http://us.zilok.com/rental/a-Miami you might try there first.

Good Luck,

And thanks for the Miami info.

ahha!! Thats where that pm came from  Smiley. I haven't been able to find anything up where I'm at. I'm thinking West Palm Beach which is an hour south of me.

Riffmax, What kind of camera are you looking to rent and where do you want to use it?

I have a 5d that you can borrow if you want. You just have to come up and get it  Smiley

Thanks everyone - I found borrowlenses yesterday.  Everything is a la carte, so I have to do the math!  So far, Concho Cameras has seemed to have the most affordable deal.

Yes, Chris, Hutchinson Island is about a hour away - I was just up at Blowing Rocks last weekend - had a big batch (well, by my standards anyway) rejected by ss (all for composition issues, which I have resubmitted and asked for a re-review) - and had a great shoot.   Like I said in my PM, I can't possibly accept your offer, but it is very kind of you to make!

As much as I could kick myself for getting in slightly over my head, it looks like I will only eat up a portion of my fee for the shoot, so I will get an opportunity to dabble with a new camera (first DSLR) for a week (I'll shoot as much stock as I possibly can while I have it!  LOL!) and I still make money, so it's a win-win.

If anyone else has any suggestions, let me know!
