What are the rules with model portfolios?  I think models include print ads in their book, and that ad would most definitely doctored to a certain degree, right?   But, what about the rest of the portfolio?  I will whiten eyes/teeth, tuck in the waist, slim bulges and trim a bump off the nose for example.  Not exactly plastic surgery but more pleasing to the eye.  What shots do you give the model for their book?  Is there a code to follow?

There are no hard and fast rules, but if you make her look like a totally different person or take ten years off of her face, that is misrepresentation.

The next photographer that shoots with her will be dismayed at the reality vs the portfolio image.

I clean up the skin and do a nip tuck if the pose was not optimal, but I try to keep it as "real" as possible.
