It features a picture of the Old Bridge in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I couldn't resist sharing this with you as Mostar is my home town. :)

Oh yes, wonderful city. Beautiful architecture, beautiful climate, beautiful nature.... River Neretva is so green, one could think it's painted. I looked at it many times to figure out why it's so green. I can't say it's because of algae, and I can't say it's because of because of green bushes because it's not always green. It's simply magical... The sound of two mountain rivers under the bridges filling my ears.....so romantic. Lots of sunshine whole year... Lots of tourists during summer....

A very beautiful evoking image.  This is an area in Europe I will visit someday.  Croatia is also very popular, but I was told that it is expensive.

Thanks Whitechild! And Adelaide :)

You should definitely visit it if you get a chance Adelaide. It can be magical. But then again, you come from Rio so you know what a beautiful place is :)

Croatia is expensive but beautiful as well, I miss going there. haven't done it in a while...

Yes, Croatian coast is also very very beautiful, but it is expensive. Madelaide, you should visit Chalkidiki in Greece, or Ionian islands in Greece. It's heaven on Earth.

Awesome place and photo!...the wife and I spend every year from October thru January in Cinque Terre, northern Italy, from there we go all over the place, by looking at this place and some of the photos of Croatia I've seen, I'm definitely going to make plans to visit this year, at least for a couple of weeks, can you guys recommend some good places to go?

The whole Adriatic coast is beautiful. It depends what you enjoy doing. If you enjoy nature, you can visit national parks Plitvice (http://www.visit-croatia.co.uk/plitvicelakes/) and Mljet (http://www.mljettravel.com/)

I'm sure you already know about Dubrovnik (http://wikitravel.org/en/Dubrovnik).

There is also Tara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tara_River_%28Montenegro%29) in Montenegro, and the old city of Kotor (http://www.visit-montenegro.com/cities-kotor.htm) is very nice.

This is just what first comes to my mind..

Almost every city in Adriatic and Ionian coast has an old part of the city, and it's always made of stone. It's usually full of restaurants, clubs, theaters. Very nice to visit.

Sounds like our kind of place Whitechild, I really look forward visiting, I'm sure it's going to be as beautiful and breath taking as the Legurian sea coastline. Thanks bud.

You welcome! If you plan to visit Chalkidiki in Greece, let me know. It's beautiful at least as Caribbean. We are privileged it's close to us, so we often take it for granted. But I know people who visited Caribbean and from their description it's very similar. So, if you like crystal clear, turquoise blue water, that's the right place. Many many sandy beaches, not crowded at all. Water temperature from june to september goes from 26-29 C (79-84 F). It's basically gulf, so water is very warm.

I can't see it. I think it's not there anymore.

I know it's beautiful as my parents were born in Montenegro. They are originally Bosnian btw.
I still have a lot of relatives in Bosnia but never been there which is a shame:) I blame myself for not making time to visit. (Yeap my parents don't live there any more as well) They left about 50 years ago after the 2nd world war.

I guess they ran away from communism. Some of my relatives moved in the same time. My grandfather's brother is in Canbera (Australia) now.

Probably,

I need to confirm that with my grandfather :)

Not all the relatives are in Bosnia btw, at least as many are still in Montenegro. It is a shame that the country is in small pieces now, but what do I know. I wasn't even there.

Everytime they vote for eachother in eurovision ;D I understand one more time, how pointless the war was in the 90s.

Beaches abroad don't attract me much, except for some in the Caribbean and French Polynesia.  But I am not a fan of basking under the sun, so beaches only don't make a holiday for me.

I don't know if it is the same for everyone in America, but living in a place were most existing buildings are not older than 200 years, very few under 300 years, visiting old cities in Europe with their medieval buildings is always interesting.  I remember a friend telling about an Englishman in his tour to Machu Picchu who said the house he lived was older than those Inca ruins.  :D

Then I'm going to feel right hat home Whitechild, I'm originally from Cuba, but have being living in the US for the past 40+ years, but then again living in Miami and have a second home in the Florida Keys, so I'm really only 90 miles from home, so I can really relate to the beautiful turquoise waters, but even with the similarities of the waters, everytime I'm on a different country, it's just overwhelming some how, amazing how every place has a personal beauty and feel of its own, another place I've being meaning to go for years is Brazil, but the wife always wants to go back to Europe, all because of the beautiful girls in Ipanema beach I guess, :o

Oh, you can make a deal, go to Europe in summer and to Brazil in winter, when it's summer there :) I've been to Brazil a few times and I'm sure you'll both like it.
