So far I've found about 18 copies of the postcard I'd like to send out, so this should work!

This sounds very interesting. Didn't catch how it works. How to we get the address of the people to send to?

Basically you:
- Prepare a postcard as per your last post...

Then...? Smiley

I'd like to participate but not quite sure how this works Smiley (I'm a slow learner... but when I learn... I learn for good Wink)

Morphart  - Last year, RacePhoto sent each participant a message with link to list of addresses. Try it, you'll like it Cheesy

Just give Race your address in a PM so he can add you to the list.  It's really a lot of fun receiving all the postcards from around the world.

Yes and I'm putting together the list right now, you would make it 12 which is about the limit. Reason is the postage costs more than the cards.  Shocked

If you want to email or PM more questions, feel free.

Basically if there are 12 people, you mail 11 cards and get 11 cards. I send myself one just for the archives and to make sure they are moving. So 12 cards. That's kind of easy.

Then when I have everyone's address (and I'm missing one now, yours would make it two missing) I PM or EM a link with the list. I tried sending the list but it gets complicated, so I have a private folder somewhere in cyberspace and I send the link to the people who asked to be included.

Be aware I've left some optional names on the list just in case anyone wants to send out a card to someone else.

Jump Right in, the water's fine.

Pretty much the rules are, there are no rules. Send a card get a card. B&W, Color, Tintype, photo with address on the back, professional postcard printing. ANything you want.

Original photo, description on the back and who it's from would be good.

As soon as I get the last two addresses I'm mailing. I have 14 cards, one to everyone, one to Valerie, one to myself. Hmm, I think that leaves one spare for someone extra.

Morphart is added, now I'm just waiting for NiceMonkey to make a visit and send me the address. Unless that happened and I lost it?

Cards printed, ID of the subject on the back. I'll need to figure out the whole 98c stamp thing, Canada and US... and then get them addressed.

I already received two. Hey you overachievers!  Cool

LOL, so it costs more here in USA to mail International Postcards when the text is bigger?

I thought all regular-size International postcards sent from USA = 98-cents postage.

Oops. someone screwed up! (again?) That was supposed to be Canada, 80c in there. I must have mixed up my Ctl-C and Ctl-V.  I'll go fix it, but you can leave the error in the quote. It was pretty funny! When did it go up from 75c?

Race, do you need our addresses again, or do you still have last year's list?

RacePhoto - When I was buying postcard stamps for your first postcard exchange here, the postal clerk mentioned that all (regular sized) International postcards were 98-cents, so I guess that was about a year ago.

(I thought you got that nifty-looking postage rate chart from someplace online, or I wouldn't have said anything about the 80/98.)

Not that I know of. I didn't have anyone else say they moved except Karimala.

I looked at the USPS site for the rates, let me explain. US 29 cents, unless it's "oversized" Then it goes as first class. Canada is 80 cents from the US. And everywhere else in the world is 98c, from the US for a standard size postcard. I don't know what they do with oversized, overseas?

Mine are all just plain old 4x6. Printed, waiting for the last address.

If anyone else moved since last Jan. please write.  Cheesy

You should have a PM with the link to the list.

Hmm...  "You have exceeded the limit of 10 personal messages per hour. " Which means someone didn't get it?

I also had the five person limit when I sent to the first six, so one person didn't get that. I don't know who?

OK some lets try method #2 just in case. If you didn't get the link to the list, PM or email me. LOL

Got it, thanks

Oh good, I thought I was going to get nine more "I didn't get it" messages.  Shocked  Wink

Now I need stamps and a big storm is coming in. I should have thought of that last Monday when I was at the post office!

"Total snow accumulation 5 to 7 inches. Lows around 19. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent." Near? They say 5-7 inches and it's near 100% LOL That's 19F = -7C

Looking at postage, I'll just tack this on and no make a new message:

The January 22nd Price Changes are headlined by a 1¢ increase in the price to mail a one-ounce, single-piece letter by First-Class Mail. The single-piece postcard rate, which increased by 1¢ to 29¢ in April 2011, will increase by an additional 3¢ to 32¢.  So mail now, rates are going up again.  Smiley

So then what stamps can I buy, to mail 98c postcards overseas, 90c to Canada and 29c for the USA people?

Mark you calendars. New US postage rates coming. Buy those forever stamps and save a penny?  Grin

Blame Canada, there are two names from Canada on the list. (JOKE FOLKS!)

I'll attach it to you in a PM unless I have your email here. I can't remember.

Pull The Trigger!  Cheesy

I know it's a mess and confusing, but here's what happened. I wanted to get a jump on May, especially since the postcard sites and postcard magazine, collect data in April, for the national postcard week. But then some people said, lets just do our own thing again, right now. So that's what it is.

This is MSG PCEX II and the mailing date is supposed to be by January 15th. (which I picked out of the air, not looking at a calendar, and it's a Sunday!)

My cousin Guido won't be coming to your door to ask about the postcards you owe, just try to get them out.  Wink

Postal rates go up at the end of the month, so we beat that one?
