What a blunder! I don't think they teach geography in schools anymore. I'm not exactly sure what they are teaching.

Africa is a continent, no? OK, you're being technical when you say South Africa.

OK, then I will say "to be fair, they both begin with South".  Smiley

South Africa is a country.  South America is a continent.

Madelaide, I think the confusion is that the graphic in your OP is a picture of South America with a big arrow and a caption that says "Africa???".  Unless you click on the link it isn't obvious that it's about South Africa.

Serves me right for not bothering to click on the link... Smiley

Yes, but Africa is a continent...I think that's what Lisa meant.  Cheesy

Haha, well, at least both Africa and S. America were the same continent...once. Smiley

West coast of Africa match east coast of South America.

Well technically, if you look at a a map of Pangaea, there was once only one super-continent.

But now we are REALLY getting off topic  Grin

Even if you don't click on the link, but view the image I uploaded in full size, you will see the "South Africa" on the South America map.

Yes, lol, I was thinking this was just a pure human error, but it seems it's more lack of knowledge.

Yeah, I already admitted I didn't click on it. It isn't displaying in full size unless you CLICK ON THE IMAGE

What's your point Maria?  That I really AM a dumbass American who doesn't know the difference between South America and Africa, or the difference between Africa the continent and South Africa the country (Nelson Mandela, former Apartheid, Boers, Capetown, etc.)??

Okay, fine - believe whatever you need to. Roll Eyes

Im from Canada (British Columbia) and used to drive truck deep into the American south. Some people down there assumed I either somehow drove from England or from somewhere in South America.
