Well you have heard the old saying so why do you imagine it to be any different on the internet.
Seems to me a few forum admins  are far to over protective of it's members and do not believe in freedom of speech.
I don't understand gays, wars,or why bears find the same spot to s*** in the woods but i would like to discuss all three openly and not have my posts deleted.

Because while this is a public forum it's privately funded and administered. And the administer who funds it gets to decide how far freedom of speech goes here.

Since this is primarily a microstock forum, maybe it would make more sense for you to find forums whose main subjects are gays, wars, and bears.

Really, you're going to get banned here, too, Shank?

There is some sense in this world.

If you google you'll find lots of sites that will accommodate some of those needs.

Mike, your totally missing the point as per the norm. Those topics just came of the top of my head.
Any subject should be discussed openly without swearing or prejudice.

Jeez, another 'freedom of speech' thread. When are you people going to understand that there is no such thing. What Amendment I of the Bill of Rights says is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

1. It does not say you have freedom of speech.
2. This forum isn't governed by the United States Congress
3. This is the Internet, not the USA
4. This, as someone else pointed out, is a private forum that the public is invited to participate in.

I agree, keep to the topic of the forum.

Everyone has their opinion; put them in the right place.

As the forum is the private property of the owner, he has every right to remove inappropriate content, and the degree of inappropriate or distasteful is at his own discretion.

You are however welcome to go out into any public street wearing a sandwich board proclaiming your views for all to see.

shank ali, objectively ,i have to agree with the others that it is to the onus of the site's admin to maintain a proper limit, even to censor as they see fit. it is a great instrument of networking here, with lots of helpful and knowledgeable ppl.
if it's so vital for you to test the boundaries of freedom of speech, why don't you create your own forum. there , you can be the one to hold the rod.

There is no freedom of speech. Except deep down in the woods when you're all alone. Maybe.

" there is a boy across the river with a bottom like a peach, but alas i can't swim"
Now that line came from a Jack Higgins novel. It made me lol when i read it.....
There lies the problem  though for most people in an online commune, humour does not transcend the globe. Some people have no sense of humour whats so ever. Some peoples humour is hidden in sarcasm which is not funny at all. Some people think if your funny you cannot be serious as well.
Words that we read can be well meaning and good humoured but in fact ends up being totally misunderstood and insulting to the reader.

no, it's only funny because you misread it.

if Jack Higgins meant the boy had a bottom like a peach, he would have written:
there is a boy WITH A BOTTOM LIKE A PEACH across the river.

I have been online about five years and enjoy chatting to people from around the world. It started on yahoo games and the forums attached to the games room.It progressed to msn and yahoo messanger.Bought a mic and webcam and we had some really good confo's ( 5-8 peeps connected on messanger talking and camming).Paltalk followed and i enjoyed the music rooms.
I left all that behind when i discovered photography in april 2007.Learning about photography and basic photo editing in my adobe elements 5.0 has been very time consuming this last 18 months but so very rewarding.
The forums attached to istock are a great help and now i find myself on another forum.
You just need to relax and understand their are some people online who's heads peek out from their ass ... and humour is not in everyones make-up.
The End.

Shank-ali, to some people it's safer not to be blinded by the light.
It all depends on which end they're coming from  Grin

Rejecting posts to a forum is no different to rejecting images to a microstock site. Standards apply, and some posts don't meet them. Learn the standards and avoid rejections.
