I put in an application and now I have three days to submit additional photos for further review. Before doing so, however, I thought I'd seek advice on my original photos and additional photos I'm deciding on submitting. Any constructive feedback would be appreciated.

I've never used 'dropbox' before, and perhaps I should have just uploaded these to flickr because I noticed there is some minor distortion on the quality of the photos for whatever reason.

The first three I submitted are:

1. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zcylh0xgm62dy92/IMG%201360_1_2%20Enfuse.jpg

2. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q59cvq5maax9f3e/IMG%201386_7_8%20Enfuse.jpg

3. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ajvo5dols87gnp0/IMG%201389_0_1%20Enfuse%202.jpg

The additional photos are more of a variety which I think would be good examples; thoughts?

1. https://www.dropbox.com/s/98m7vd8nqu15vea/IMG_0670.jpg

and

2.a https://www.dropbox.com/s/g8o9i7rd8l4agee/CRW_4497.jpg

or

2.b https://www.dropbox.com/s/i7tkd7jbyus1t9r/CRW_4488.jpg

and

3.a https://www.dropbox.com/s/5rswjzi4ifsz0fe/CRW_4408.jpg

or

3.b https://www.dropbox.com/s/r0btirel9pcyxzc/CRW_4412.jpg

Thanks in advance!

It's way past my bedtime, so I haven't looked through them all.

IMO, the first one is fine, I love the colours. I'm assuming the orginal is bigger, and if so the wording on the notice might be semi-readable. In that case you'd either have to remove the writing, leaving a big white notice board unless you can clone it out altogether or submit it as editorial. I can't work out their policy on signs, but I once had a reject on a mark which they thought was copyrighted and when I went back to look at the original, it was literally just a random mark, tiny in the whole pic.

The first two photos of the boy don't seem to be critically sharp, especially in the eyes. The third pic seems to be sharper, but his cheek is almost totally burned out, which I'm assuming iS still won't accept (but who knows nowadays?)

I'm sure others will chip in with their opinions.

Thank you for looking, 'ShadySue'.  ;)

Yes, it occurred to me I may have to do something about the notice board on the lift bridge. Just wanted to see if anyone (especially those who have contributed to iStock) thought it would be acceptable in a general sense before I put in the effort.

I was skeptical myself about the boy (my nephew), those were taken quite some time ago and I generally avoid portraits. Though I've learned a few things in recent years and I could probably do better if I were to try again.

Curious what anyone thinks about the final two pics.

Curious what anyone thinks about the final two pics.

I can think of a bunch of reasons they might get rejected: not very commercial, needs a property release (applies to a lot of sculpture).  Of course I could be way off.

The two of your nephew might do well.  Depends on how they look at full resolution, and I might try to reprocess them to make them pop a little more.  But again, they might sail through as is.

It's been a long time since I tried submitting anything to iStock, you see...
