Do you have any idea how to do this type of illustration?

I've attempted something like this in Illustrator, but I failed.

I hope other members here know.

I've search the net for tutorials, but I could not find anything similar.

He is a very talented artist and knows how to draw. Using a tablet and pen would be a good start.
