My first impression is that you should avoid shooting in bright, direct sunlight, if you can avoid it. I like the simple stuff on white. Is it selling?

They're ok, but the libraries are full of pictures of horses, cats and trees with sunlight.  Keep going, though.

I would not bother so much about views, as with the new system they are only counted if a potential buyer expands or clicks on your image. Just as a personal example, I have couple of files with more than a thousand views which have never sold on DT and then I have many others with 1view, 1 sale, 3 views and 3 sales, etc.

Keywords and descriptions are much more important. Try to think from the buyer's perspective: will he/she find your picture a when searching for a "Brown horse"? The term gives 200 pages of results. Is your photo different, better or just one more brown horse? Maybe a more accurate title and detailed description could help them to find your pic. The same goes for your pictures of kittens and poker chips, thousands and thousands of similar pictures in a huge competition.
