Not sure if I can post my istock folio link on SS forum so thought I'd try it here first.

Here's my portfolio from istock.

http://www.istockphoto.com/search/portfolio/1335984

I'm having a hard time picking which ones cause being approved by iStock I would have thought they all suffice quality wise but I'm sure it's not the case.

Please let me know which ones I should include in the initial 10. Ta.

Here's some basic starter material. Beach Houses, fountains, statues, buildings, office furniture and anything that's possibly copyrighted or trademarked, are all out.

Good Luck.

No,  I think you have to go back to the drawingboard and try again. SS, is far tougher then IS.

istock take pictures right out of the camera with a mild postprocessing.

Shutterstock wants POP.
Your pictures lack pop and worse, they are not presice on the keywords or concepts.

You will get the "property release" rejection on many, LCV on others and bad lighting on the rest.
The beachouses might pass.

Sorry. To say...

BTW, I get a lot of overfiltered rejections from istock, when I upload my popped up shutterstock pictures to them.

Well...I was going to rate my favorite photos using IS's rating system and then let you know, but..............................like so many other things on IS, the ratings system isn't working properly.   :-\

They want to see variety and exceptional images - so make sure you don't give them 5 images of food and 5 images of landscape - mix it up a bit more. Definitely pick one of your best landscapes and one of those nice gourmet waffle shots

Just to be clear, I wasn't asking for a comparison between SS and IS, I was just asking for which photos of my I should put forward to SS, maybe on their forum, for further critique.

Thanks for those who's taken time to review the portfolio.

Sorry, but none of the IS port will pass.
As I remember you'll need to send concept, portrait, isolation, landscape, food....... all must be different and astonishing. They have to be sharp with vibrant colors, well composed etc. Even if they are perfect they can refuse them without good reason. Their inspection process sYcks but that's the way it is.
Best

Most of your photos, if sharp, will be digned for uneven lighting. A lot of them if not all.  SS does not like shadows. Your food shots will not pass for example. A shadow from the dish overcasting the sauce, no go. Etc etc. You have a lot of blown out skies. And you need a PR for 70% of your portfolio. I like your beach house shots, they are your best imho. The one that could work at SS is your wooden boat photo. Love that one too. I Like your landscapes but they are taken at the wrong time of day with hard  light and missing some clouds.

I suggest posting in the critique forum at SS, the peeps over there might be harsh in their critique but honest and they will work with you until you get accepted, no matter how long it takes.

My two eurocents.
