If any of my content was included I should be excited but honestly, regarding the price, I'm glad that non of my files will be in there as those packages hit the file sharing sites instantly.

Yesterday, I was trying to find some footage of mine on the biggest file sharing sites and found that 95% of all ripped content was from Envato (Videohive, 3DOcean etc.) - I was floored.

I think the extremely low prices lead to this problem.

Congrats on the 6 years though. No idea if contributors will stick with you for another 24 if the content keeps spilling over to the file sharing sites like this...

I have only got 125 vectors there as the prices are very low..

I am actually considering pulling all my stuff off at some point if the pricing is not improved..

You can get many of the vectors for $2 - $3 each!

That is abysmal.. Small to Medium size photos cost more than vectors at envato.. Photographers here don't like their photo pricing but vectors are priced way worse..

Don't all stock photos hit the file sharing sites (or at least have potential to)?  I'm not sure why price would make a difference.  I would rather think that over priced images would show up quicker on torrent sites.

I was part of the giveaway birthday bundle last year and got a fancy $700 for my efforts - a welcomed amount for a single image.

I've seen the file sharing sites have some collections from the more expensive sites.  Perhaps price isn't a barrier when you use a stolen credit card?

I'm a buyer at Envato, do I need to sign up again or do it all under the same user ID?

Every single image on the interweb is exposed to this risk, yes.

Doing my investigation of stolen stock footage of mine I came across a few Pond5 and Shutterstock "bundles" but Envato was like the king of pirated content. I couldn't believe it.

Envato overall strikes me as the all-round agency to the (really) poor buyers. Prices are very, very low not to mention the commissions.

I was under the impression that the low prices make up with lots of sales but so far I'm wrong. I tested footage on Videohive and the pricing is just atrocious and commissions are insulting.

It wouldn't surprise me if a good number of buyers simply dumps the files somewhere online not caring about the copyright/value of the content.

Somebody buying on IS however has to pay about $100 for a single HD footage clip might have reservations dumping the clip online while the same clip is $4 on Videohive...

Just my 2 cents.

at Josh

can you explain me "you point of view" to my point of view.

I have image on PhotoDune Isolated image with included clipping path, and pricing is lets say ok which depends of image size is 1-9$ or maybe more + eventually extended licence.
Uload process is easy like for any photo lets say all ok. (without uploading Thumb and Prewiew images and without Zipping files) choosing cathegories or something else.

After that I for a joke or nor I know why I submit my same image with clipping path and make png transparencie of that and submit it to GraphicRiver.

Conclusion
I upload My Image with paintass process of uploading to GraphicRiver (including making crop for Thumbnail image, making preview image 590px, making transparent png, psd,  ziping all formats blah blah I loose half hour) and this same image with lots of less effort is selling at PhotoDune in price range 1-9$
and on GraphicRiver price of that same image which has png knockout, cutout this image has price of 2$??? and + shugar at the end Graphic river and 3dOcean you can only enter 30 keywords?!?

Also this same story above.
When I made seamless pattern from image as pixel graphic as photo image on You PhotoDune site price range is OK 1-9$ and without painstaking upload process like on 3d Ocean or GraphicRiver.
When I try it to submit on 3DOcean prices for may Seamless/pattern is fixed to 2$ for any size???

Who is crazy here?

Totally off topic, however:

I totally agree. Envato has a huge, fantastic marketplace but the pricing scales are way off.

If we offer an image on Photodune up to $9 for the maximum size the same image as a transparent PNG or PSD file should be minimum $9 as it will be sold maximum (or the one uploaded) resolution anyway, plus we have a lot more work with the file.

In the end, even if the Graphicriver file is sold for $9 we, non-exclusives, end up with $2.97.

$2.97 commission for a maximum file size is also grinding the bare bottom of my pain threshold. I thought the massive amount of customers would have lead to a large amount of sales, but I just get 2-4 sales a day. Nothing to get excited about.

Well anyway, got it out of the system, maybe at some point Envato will shift things into the right direction...

Hi again :)  Just a friendly reminder about the big birthday bundle coming up in 4 days! Also, remember, we will be giving every author (including non-exclusives) 70% commission on the sales they make from Monday the 27th of August (12:00am) to Friday the 31st of August (11:59pm), AEST.

Check out the updated announcement here: http://notes.envato.com/general/the-birthday-bundle-is-coming/

And the landing page here: http://themeforest.net/bundles/birthday2012

Thanks! - Josh

Thanks Josh, think both of these things are great incentives. Having been part of a bundle in the past it was definitely worthwhile, and the 70% commission, well lets just hope people are saving up all there purchases till the end of the month!

Sounds like a great way to celebrate and hopefully a boost for sales too.  Have the images for the bundle been selected yet and would we have been notified if we have an image included or do we just find out when the sales start rolling in?

How about 50% on normal sales for 365 days until next years birthday.

And Extended licenses should be priced higher.

not the best topic but I will add one too, we need to be allowed to add numbers into the keywords, have a recent picture with 2013 in it, doesnt make sense taking that keyword out

Was having a great month with sales, right up until the 70% kicked in, then no sales since! What a shame, couldn't the buyers have waited just a few days to get their images and make us some more cash!?  ;)

Has the time already come that we have to beg for sales too?

Is anyone besides Microstock Man getting any sales on PD the last few weeks?
