Title: PhotoDune 50% Credit Back Promo is ... Back in january
Post by: collis on January 02, 2012, 18:53
Hey folks, we're starting to ramp up again after the Christmas/NY vacation, hope all you MSG'ers had a lovely new years!

I'm stopping by just to mention that as of a few minutes ago we've announced another month of our successful November promo where we gave 50% credit back to buyers who purchased through PhotoDune. You can see the announcement here: http://notes.envato.com/news/its-back-get-50-marketplace-credit-back-on-all-photodune-purchases-in-january/ (http://notes.envato.com/news/its-back-get-50-marketplace-credit-back-on-all-photodune-purchases-in-january/)

Anyhow I'll be back with more updates later in the month once I've caught up with the deluge of email in my inbox :( Meantime hope things in microstock land are going well!

Just to highlight a very important note - that was in your blog post but I thought was worth mentioning here: you are paying contributors their regular royalties throughout this promotion.

Great to see that PhotoDune is (a) running a promotion to encourage purchases during what is typically a slow month and (b) that promotion expenses are being borne by the agency as a marketing expense.

Let's hope this makes for a busy January!

Not the right forum, but what is the tax status with Photo Dune.  They are Australian aren't they?  Do they withhold any kind of taxes, or are there any hoops to jump through to get paid as non-Australian?

This is great news Collis!  Looking forward to another great sales month at PD.

And I second JoAnn.  It's a class move for the agency to bear the cost of promotions out of its cut.  Thank you!

This kind of thinking is familiar with mine. While IS smacks made this kind of promotions with our royalty cuts to in that promotions.
