I would add a cell phone
(They add camera to phone, and why not the contrary?)

Nearly all of this is not really about "features" but making cameras better. Less features/gimmicks better quality ergonomics is the way to go.

Higher Res at a reasonable cost. 120MP would be ideal.

19 year old me would vote for the x-ray function.
Based on what I see daily, I'm glad that people are covered up (99% of them anyways)

today's cameras have come so far in terms of resolution, high iso performance, AF, video etc that I really find it hard to complain. I'm thinking seriously of getting a Fuji Xt-2 and never buying a camera body again (how many times have we all said that?)

So, ultimately, I'll vote for the coffee machine.

A hypnotise function, causing every one in the shot to instantly sign a model release. Failing that, I'd settle for an Angelina Jolie sensor that causes the camera to turn blue when she is close, like Frodo's sword.

i'd defintely vote for the angelina sensor...

and for these crucial days of ss ...
i'd ask for an auto warning AI that communicates directly with the robot-reviewer at ss
so it saves me from wasting my shots
when it either refuses to take the photo
or shouts out to me , |"|*., you are not going to take that sh*t , are you???
it won't be approved or sell NFA
!!!

Not serious :  my camera would make a sound or give a few light flashes when I call it ... I keep on forgetting where I put my camera in the middle of a photo session.  Would be nice if my camera would just tell me "Hey, I'm HERE!".

Serious :  a flip-down LCD screen like so many non-pro cameras have, so I don't have to use my angle-viewer if I want to shoot real low.

Super serious :  I am dreaming of the day Canon starts selling medium format (at reasonable pricing of course) with EF mounts.

Less noise, better low light, 4K video, more dynamic range, better image stabilisation, higher bitrate video, XLR input, better onboard mic, better form factor for shooting video.

Camera with API for software, apps and all features of DSLR - some projects are already existing.
Another thing - AF following not objects of shooting, but an "eye pointer spot" taken from an eye. I know this should be individually adjusted but technically doable. I contacted some people, which told this is not possible and after this they disconnected me and one blocked. For now i didn't disclosed why i know that it is possible. But it is expensive. Can be produced in Belgium.

talking about flip down LCD,
isn't it amazing how the amateur market got it before the pro models?
i find it so useful esp when travelling or in a maze of people,
only problem is that now, you also have a maze of amateurs with notebook and mobile with
their hands in the air
and you have to find a way to be taller than the rest of the amateur apparatus.

i guess that's why some pros are using drones LOL

We have face recognition, so as a mircostocker, I'd like each photo to recognize every single object in the picture and add it to the metadata keywords ;)

Not on the list but, my lcd is pretty much useless when it's bright out and it's difficult to tell what some of the settings are.

This is what annoys the heck out of me about Canon. In my view, your camera should be better than the cheaper model in every respect. But no... this one has better low light performance, that one has better focusing, the other one has a faster burst rate, this one over here has a flip-out screen...

The sooner DSLR builds become modular and we're able to specify exactly what we want and swap out individual components for something smarter when it becomes available, the better.

absolutely. if you consider paying 4 times more (or what , 10 times more, etc) than a notebook or a mob,  you expect it too , to be able to do as much than those amateur gadgets.
besides for the resolution, the movies and shot actually look very good in low light situations..
i don't know if those notebook and mob has 1080p vid or not,
but they do look very good as you see them on youtube.

also the mirrorless came out with excellent flipscreen and sensors too...
and yes, they shoot amazing movies .

i can relate to the frustrations of Canon users,
imagine, you in a motorrace, or races, or grandprix,etc..
and everyone from grandpa to little Mindy hold up their notebook, mob camera, along with
the few who believes in the mirrorless (Sony, Oly,Samsung,Panasonic, Lumiz,)
hold up their cameras..
and poor little professional with a camera and lense many times more expensive
is still craning her neck trying to shoot between their armpits.

pisses you off, for sure !!!

oh another thing, even if you added the flip-screen on the Nikon and Canon DSLR
the weight of the mofos would be almost impossible to lift above your shoulder to shoot
a movie .
i shoot with the mirrorless once , at a race, and even with the tiny lense 300mmzoom and body,
my hands were tired after holding it up for 30 mins.
i can't imagine me doing it the same with a DSLR of any brand, can you???

p.s.
i am happy with any of the mirrorless i rented, all were stellar .
but i am still waiting for one that smells out Angelina Jolie 's sweat gland .
i would say Lumix would be the first one out with it ;)

I will also add one more thing...a way to hook up up your camera to your computer and use internal camera software to check and adjust focusing. I purchased three Nikon D7100's and all three had to go back to Nikon because the mirrors were way out of alignment, giving me soft edges and sharp centers.  I should be able to do this in the camera just by hooking it up to my computer and making adjustments in real time with the image on my monitor.

Or buy just one 5D, not so important which MARK, all are razor sharp.
:;-)

Couldn't agree more! Unless the automatic filter based on your preferences would be included too.

Making manual focus through viewfinder as easy if not better then film cameras.
Making them more ambidextrous.
Less noise.
More able to shoot in low and indoor natural light.

Focus, following an eye direction in a viewfinder of DSLR. As per discussions i already had, it is technically possible, but with brands enough open for cooperation with third parties. The function can take as parameters even individual features of different people and correctly choose nearest focus points.
