Have you tried it yet.

What exactly does it do. Is it just a photo tracking program like the free software you get with Canon cameras??

Is this going to be a program that costs once it is no longer beta or is it going to be sold/given away in different versions like adobe pdf software.

I am sure once the program is out of beta mode it will be sold... perhaps bundled along with photoshop.

It is a competitor to Apple Aperature if that says anything to you.

It's target audience is professional photographers and is created to ease the work flow of sorting, raw processing and printing of your files.  It has a fairly extensive organization ability as well as lots of raw processing which means you can do lots of basic editing while still keeping your raw file totally in tact, and have only one file in the end (instead of a tiff and a raw)

opps forgot.

yes, i have tried it.  I have spent the last two days working on it quite a bit with a few photo shoots.

the speed needs to be improved but it is liveable with Canon 10D images (6.4 mp)  I don't think i would want to use it with a 1ds files though. It has a very nice feel to it and works quite well to speed up a work flow.  One of my favorite things is using it to pick favorite images from a shoot.  It has a decent feature to compare various photos.
It has a ways to catch up to apple's apperature mind you, but it is free so I am not going to complain.

Have downloaded now.  It appears to be a flash version of Picassa.  Sound about right??
