I just saw this little software program which apparently speeds up the start up time of photoshop by disabling filters that you never use.  If you end up wanting to use a disabled filter while inside photoshop, it will load right then, instead of at start up.

i can't say I have tried it, but it looks interesting.  Has anyone else tried it?
Photoshop Speedup

and for interests sake, here is an olderthread on how to speed up photoshop, in general

Photoshop used to take forever to load on my old computer, but on my new one it only takes about 3 seconds. That's plenty fast for me.  Wink
