Hello,

are you guys using picNiche? I really love it, but I always have troubles... it has never accepted my 123RF password, and now after a firefox update the same thing is happening with DT.  :'(
I read in the update log that the 123RF logon problem is solved, and still I can't log on. I have the newest version now.

Thanks for any comments!
Simone

After update to 1.0.29, I also had the same problem with DT. However, I just logged in to DT and had Firefox remember my DT password and everything was fine after that.

Just updated to 1.0.29 and lost DT (as above)  After a bit of fiddling I got it back again (with earnings).  No earnings showing for 123 though !?

well it says this thing "no username match found for 123RF in firefox manager...blablabla". but i can't make it work, the username and password are stored in the password manager. I even tried to write it into the firefox config file by hand...lol. didn't work.

Can u log into 123 at all with FF ??  if so do that and then log out, then log in again but do NOT use auto complete !  type username and password yourself.  This should get FF to ask if u wish it to save login.  Then PicNiche should work :)  If I'm repeating what you've already done, sorry  :-[

Heya Simsi :)

The 1.0.29 update ensures that only the https protocol can be used when logging into dreamstime (they recently changed their site preventing standard http login for expired (or non-existent) sessions (this is why it's working for some but not for others.

To save the details for the correct protocol (https), save your login to firefox when logging into DT using the page opened by the blue Dreamstime link in the picNiche preferences panel (Tools/picNicheTools/Options).

The same should work for 123RF too, though their unusual subdomain and protocol configuration sometimes gets the firefox password manager confused.
Please let me know if it's still not working after saving your details at those pages :)

Thanks :)
Bob

yeah, i got DT working. But 123RF doesn't work since the beginning. Once very short, miraculously, but then I had to reinstall windows and lost the settings and since then I never made it work again. :( I even tried to put the settings by hand into the about:config of firefox... lol.

Thanks for any help!

yeah... i'd be so happy if i could make it work. i always have to do everything manually in 123RF and don't see earnings automatically. :(

I know this is old but I am having the same problems with 123rf not reading and have also tried every suggestion in this thread a few times.  Any update?

I know this is old but I am having the same problems with 123rf not reading and have also tried every suggestion in this thread a few times.  Any update?

This happens occasionally for 123RF, there is nothing wrong with the toolbar or poller, it's just that the way they generate the earnings grid on the server can often take longer than the 20 seconds timeout. You can see this by opening the earnings page and giving it a count of how long it takes to finish, for me it's about 20-25 seconds most of the time, but sometimes it's longer (timeout is 30 iirc).

This is usually solvable by opening the site by hitting the button, then refreshing earnings (using the refresh earnings button on the toolbar). I assume they are running a monthly/weekly/daily-updated cache or similar for each user which is not particularly effective. I've asked them if I can help improve it as I have a lot of database/cache experience, but they're not interested.

Hmm I can't even click it to get to my earnings page the problem for is that it won't pick up my username and password no matter what I do, so I always get the "No user name match" notification popping up.

I'm not sure if you mean the 123rf poller (their site has some major caching and database issues but there's nothing I can do about it on the toolbar). The best suggestion I can make is to try following the steps here:
http://picniche.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/picniche-toolbar-tips-faqs/#prob1
I've contacted Alex and offered to help improve their site, but he's not interested, so for now at least we're stuck with it as-is. Maybe next time they get round to working on the site it will work better :)

Thanks Bob!

I will try that out, the rest of the sites work perfectly and I really love the toolbar.  As a newly non-exclusive contributor your tools are super helpful and I've recommended them to a few other who are just coming out of contract lockdown.
