i have about 2000 footage at Pond5, and make steady 8-10 sales every month for about a year now.
Suddenly my sale stop a month ago and make nothing for 40 days. Am i in trouble?  :'(

Seems like it.

Can you find your own clips in the search?

We are seeing a massive decrease in sales on Pond5 too. We have 13k of footage. There have been a lot fewer views on our footage than before... so there is probably much fewer customers there :\

Your footage collection is amazing!
I just wondered.. do site accept shots like this without model release?

From experience with photos i wouldn't even have tried something like this even if the people would be 3-4 times smaller part of the picture than this.

Are you seeing a compensating increase in sales anywhere else?

My bad about the views, there are actually more views, but sales are rarer than in the past. In the past if there were some bumps of views, there was at least 1 sale. Now you can't even predict such sales.

We don't see any compensation on other stock agencies. At least it is not noticeable.

If you are not seeing a spike at other agencies, but the views are going up...my best guess would be they are heavily marketing their subscription service.

The artists that have content in the program do not get any information about the number of sales, they are selling inside a black box.

And everyone else loses if the customer choses a subs file, because a normal file is not even considered.

But that is the way they work, they are otherwise still a very good agency.

But we now have strong internal competition with the subs program and cannot take part.

I don't really know, my guess is perhaps each month, they allow buyers to see my clips only for a short moment, and then the opportunity goes to someone else. Because sometimes, the sales concentrate on a short period of the month.

That's a pretty harsh dry spell, sorry to hear that. It's happened to me a few times in the past and if its any consolation sales have come back.

First two weeks of October were pretty poor there then last week went nuts with lots of sales. Just overtaken 2014 as my best year ever there with 2 months to spare!

I'm seeing this pattern with photos, but don't want to fall into paranoia. Every month there are these boom days of sales, can happen at any period during the month, and when I reach my usual monthly amount the sales go down just as they went up, like someone is controlling the valve. I'm not in the complaining mood just yet thou, because it might help my sales as much as it seems to hurt them, don't know.

If you have 50 days without sales with 2,000 clips then something is wrong.

Either

your clips are not search optimized.
your prices are not optimized, or
your content is not what people are looking for.

If you had good sales before, it's likely to be the first two. They can both change with time.
