Nature recordings on Pond5?
icefloe:
I am new to Pond5 and have uploaded 36 files of nature sounds. Some of them are selling on Getty. I dear say they are of high quality with birds, wind, water and so on. All of them got rejected with no comment. Is this normal?
I also have uploaded a few pretty crappy video files, in my opinion, and they got all accepted...
increasingdifficulty:
Don't know if it's normal, but maybe you could post an example so we could listen? Hard to judge the quality otherwise.
They might also already have (what they feel is) enough of those types of sounds.
I actually buy sounds like that regularly, although not from Pond5, and find a good variety to be very important, since I don't want to use the same wave/wind/bird sounds in all my films. Ideally they should be at least 2-3 minutes long, preferably longer, and they must also be of really high quality, a lot better than my camera's internal mic.

Here is one of mine with gulls and waves on Getty: http://www.gettyimages.se/music/download-songs/530469
Maybe they were too short. Most files are under 2 min long. But anyway, how am I supposed to know when they don't tell me anything? That is what irritates me.
increasingdifficulty:
Sounds like high quality sounds, and usable too. You could always write Pond5 and ask. They are usually very friendly.
Have you tried putting together albums/collections for places like Splice?
SpaceStockFootage:
That kind of thing wouldn't be too hard to loop, so people can have as long as they need. Might help with sales.
