Same thing happen to me I just never posted, I did had one image that I had used a part of from pexels that I used in a composition of my image and for that reason alone they turned off my entire port! I only had a few hundred photos because my main earnings is from video of which I had thousands and worked with them to help launch video back in the day when Dennis was still there. Just plain crazy, like I would't have deleted it if I had known. Oh well life goes on and I am rolling in with other projects. If they say you were warned once I was and deleted everything I know had any elements from pexels sorry I missed one!!!

Yes. I have seen a decline of about 15k

I did stock full time for 12 years and yes I would do it again, oh I still shoot but I am now working in business and video production for companies. On average over the 12 years I earned 60k a year.

Written by AI for you :-). Despite the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, there are certain areas of the photography business where AI will not be effective. AI is being increasingly used in photography to automate certain processes and to improve the quality of images. However, there are certain aspects of photography that still require human input and creativity.

One area where AI will not be effective is in the creative process of photography. Although AI can be used to assist photographers in certain tasks, such as image recognition and face detection, the creative process of taking a photograph still requires a human touch. AI can only do so much in terms of capturing the nuances of a scene, the emotion of a moment, or the composition of a photograph. Furthermore, AI can only take photographs from predetermined vantage points, so if a photographer wants to take a photograph from an unusual angle, this will require human input.

Another area where AI will not be effective is in post-production. Post-production involves editing and enhancing photographs, and this often requires an artistic eye that AI simply cannot provide. Although AI can be used to automate certain tasks, such as color correction and image sharpening, the creative decisions that go into post-production still require human input.

Finally, AI will not be able to replace the business

What I mean by local areas is places that people visit a lot in your city or town. I have sold a lot of stock of Greenville SC area because I live here and cover it, there is still a need for that at this time. break out into aerial and do that! There are still areas for growth. I am very aware that the photo stock business will be nearly dead in about  a year or less!

6
Fair question,  total time including edit was 2 hours I charged $200.00 for the shoot. So decent for a few hours of my time, I charge more for video. AI will cover a lot of area's but to those who tough it out you will get the work. Now more then ever your people skills will come into play.

I have to weigh in here!! I just did a photo shoot of two senior girls, AI can't do that! People use AI to your benefit to make more money not less!! I have found a place for it and it is not in stock imagery. Yes real photographers and video producers are still needed. I run a youtube channel for a school and AI can not produce video's of the student activities or do interviews....... For the lazy it is game over for the driven is is just adjusting and using and moving on. Sure AI will replace a large part of stock, your job is to shoot what it can't produce and yes there are things it will not be able to do. Think of all the locations in your city that AI has no clue!

Thanks all! Will stop by now and then as I will still submit some content but not as much as I use too. I still earn thousands each month from stock but the downward trend is upon us and my family needs come first.

Thanks Everest! I still have a soft spot for medical in me but in this atmosphere of Covid I do not want to go back into the hospital! I have used the books I am selling for myself for years and it hit me why not sell something I have a passion for and help others at the same time :-) Topics cover diabetes, blood pressure, natural remedies, edible plants and the like. I will just use stock as a fun side gig and take my video expertise into my new area. Life is short and that is why I started stock video in the first place! Now moving on to a new exciting world!

Don't be sorry it is one of the best adventures I have ever been on!!!! Truly amazing I did it full-time for 10 years! It is now a side hobby which is just fine :-) Loved every second of this journey and it gives me the ability to move on and try new things. People told me when I stated that I could never make a living at it :-) Well I did. I am sure some will say I can never make it on my next adventure and they could not be more wrong:-)

General Stock Discussion / Time For A Veteran To Walk Away

Hello,

I have learned lot over the past 10 years! I have shot in hospitals with my drone, out of a hot air ballon, at a fire station and the list goes on and on. My income has not been climbing even as I have produced a lot over the past year and so now I am moving on to other pastures. I have been very blessed to have done stock video as a living for the past 10 years and I have zero regrets!! It has been fun and amazing but I can not sustain my family just doing stock anymore! I have a degree in radiology from Kettering so I am going to focus on medical needs outside of the medical field. I will be selling health books that have impacted my life and I believe people will need in order to stay healthy in the future! I will still dabble in stock here and there but am shifting my focus now to health and wellness. Thanks to all here for the encouragement and discouragement :-) the forum can be a wild place. I have spent the most amazing 10 years with my family doing stock!!! Good luck to those who are in it full-time still and a final and happy farewell to all of you!  Crafted Shutter aka jjneff
