Pond5 / Re: No (exclusive) worries!
« on: May 04, 2019, 20:20 »
April's top sellers: 2 exclusive vs 43 non exclusive out of 45 total files.

Assuming that most not going exclusive people adjusted their prices after the -10%

this seem as good news,
As titled: no worries, it is still content that sell!

 :)

where did you get the April's top sellers list?

Getty pays 20%RF and 30% RM images in moment

i now people with travel images and cand earn 600-1000 USD with 2500 pics
Other with average macro stock portfolio who cxan earn 1000-2000 with 2000 pics.
Many people with 200-400 photos can ear 100$, 300$ or nothing... because is macro and macro havent regular patterns as micro.

Thanks MxR for your help. What it means "because is macro and macro havent regular patterns as micro"?

General - Stock Video / which is best footage selling stock agency?
« on: September 28, 2015, 22:16 »
Hi all,

I just start to shoot the video for stock agency and no idea how to choose which stock agency to join. Which one is the best footage selling stock? Pond5,SS or Istockphoto? I heard the price in Istockphoto is quite low as 0.XX USD ,is it right?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock sales is sinking deeply...
« on: January 29, 2015, 00:03 »
This thread is about as useful as the Doom and Gloom thread over at SS....all problems and no solutions. Then again, most of us know it is unwise to offer solutions in business until you've milked the opportunity dry yourself.

Unfortunately all solutions are at SS management side. Not at all in contributors hands... I'd say that the most significant problem in this diminishing sales is overabundant crap images acceptance. And, stupid search which gives advantage to cheaper images from newbies who are in 25c or 33c tiers. Established contributors have to deal with wall which comes up to doubling portfolio size if they want to keep their earnings pace.
Do you have anything to share with us that proves that theory?

Added edit in my previous post. About the wall? Well... Mostly all what I can tell you about it is what I've heard. Search has changed when EX iStock exclusives come to SS. Many of people have very hard times to maintain their earnings if they don't upload on regular basis. New images don't sell as they sold before. You might get one or two sales in week after upload and that is it. So, there is a constant burying of new images...
No not about the wall, about the part I bolded

I think it is not the picture was cheaper. It is SS get more money from newbie, less left for contributor.

It is very strange!

I got a mail from Istock and invite me to join Istock photo by showing my some popular photo in Shutterstock. The fact is I did in Istock from 2 years ago!!!  :'( :'(

Sorry, I'm not clear on what you're saying.  Did you get an invitation to buy from iStock or contribute?  And they used one of your SS images or just a SS image?

Istockphoto show some my photo (from Shutterstock) and invite me join Istockphoto as contributor.

I am not optimistic about Microphoto revenue in 2015. More photo upload but less sales from them.    :( :( :(

Shutterstock.com / SS change the photo search algorithm?
« on: November 30, 2014, 22:24 »
SS change the photo search algorithm?

Two new things I found in the recent month:
1)   Most of the download from the elder photo.new upload very limited sales compared with before situation
2)   Even lately uploaded photo can be show in the top hot image in my portfolio. It is impossible in the past

Shutterstock.com / Re: latest uploaded photo no sales any more?
« on: September 28, 2013, 03:52 »
The reason is that the customers search for the photos, and an old photo that has had a few downloads, is easier to find than a new one.

thanks for reply. but before the latest uploaded foto got the download quite often as well.

Shutterstock.com / latest uploaded photo no sales any more?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: IStockphoto log in problem?
« on: May 18, 2013, 01:22 »
I'm logging in OK, but you've got a point. If you can't log in, you can't use their help system as contributors aren't allowed to phone.
One of these side-effects of their policies that they never seem to identify.
I reckon it's just a cache or cookie related issue, but in the event it's not they can still open support ticket or email us if they aren't able to log on.

I hope I've identified a few solutions  ;)

Thanks Pieman,I tried many times with cookies but seems not this issue.Still working hard to figure out what's happening.
Deepmeta still ok to upload photos but web page not available here for 4 days already.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: IS should change the model Release policy

MR is only valid for 3 months is what I get from it

Yes ,same as my understanding. That's the reason I am complaining.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: IS should chang the model Release policy
« on: February 15, 2013, 01:35 »
I'm sure what was meant was that the OP thinks it's inconvenient to have to upload MRs with every photo, and for that reason s/he hasn't uploaded released photos to iS for eighteen months, only sending released pics to SS and DT.

Yes,your understanding is right.

18 month now ? not 3 month?
