Hi maco0708,

What is your StockXpert username? You can PM it to me. I'll see what I can do about expiditing the removal of your images from photos.com and JIU, but it usually takes a few weeks for this to happen.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi everyone,

Photos.com and JIU sales data since Dec. 20 have been added to Stockxpert, and these earnings have been populating your balance sheets throughout last night and this morning.

As usual, sorry for the inconvenience, and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Steve

Here's the latest ...

The data for current sales is now flowing from Photos.com and JIU to StockXpert. The next step is to retrieve past sales data from the Photos.com/JIU side and import it to Stockxpert and into your balance sheets.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks
-Steve

I was informed that there is a delay in Moneybookers payments but that you should receive your payments by the end of this week. It is moneybookers you use, correct?

Hi everyone,

Ok. We identified a problem with how sales data is being reported from Photos.com and JIU to StockXpert. The data is being recorded and logged; it's just not flowing to StockXpert. Our dev and tech teams are working quickly to fix the problem and restore the data to your balance sheets.

Thanks for your patience and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi guys,

Hope you had a good holiday. Thanks for reporting this. I'm looking into it.

Both the search server problem and cache building problem have been fixed. All previously missing images should be visible in portfolios and through search.

If you are still finding missing images, please provide me with some image numbers so I can look into it.

FYI, I'm sure most of you know this already, but just in case, the search engine only searches keywords from the keyword list, not description or title--yet. Some contributors have been searching on terms in the title, but those terms were not in the keyword list, so the images were not appearing in the search results.

Again, let me know if you have any problems finding your images in the search and please provide image numbers.

Thanks!
-Steve

Yes. We have identified a search server synchronization issue that is preventing some newly approved images from appearing on the site. The dev team has been working on this for the last few days. We expect to have it resolved soon.

Thanks,
Steve

Well, I had a Sam Adams the other night. Tasted a little skunked. Woke up the next morning with a headache--or at least I thought it was the next morning.  ???

Umm ... I've been in the forums answering questions pretty much non stop. Admin has been in there too helping out. Perhaps I missed a couple?

Hi hali,

Yes. The default sort order is popularity. Popularity is a combination of views, downloads, and newness, so it is a sort of compromise for customers and contributors. It's always an on-going process, but we want to make sure customers are finding the images they need as quickly as possible, and strictly showing the newest images first is not necessarily the best way to accomplish that.

Thanks,
Steve

To be part of Photos.com and JIU at this time, you need to be opted into Extended Licensing and Subscriptions. By opting into these you agree to offer your images as PPD, subscriptions, and EL on Photos.com and JIU. However, currently JIU doesn't offer a PPD option.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Don't be scared. It just means they need to determine how much is exactly owed to whom.

The code and QA for the roll out was completed before the lead developer was out for the week. The roll out was planned for when he got back. The bug was brought to our attention during the week he was out.

He came back, and they roll out the upgrade on Thursday and included the Photos.com/JIU reporting bug fix. It appears the fix fixed the problem going forward, but perhaps didn't return missing earnings from the first two weeks. This is a separate issue that they are working on. Obviously we didn't expect all these bugs with the upgrade rollout, so some of them had to be dealt with immediately.

Are people now receiving JIU+ and Photos.com Plus downloads since the fix? Please let me know if anyone has received Photos.com Plus or JIU+ downloads since last Thursday's roll out.

Thanks,
-Steve

Hi everyone,

I enquired again about the fix for the Photos.com+ reporting bug. It will actually be rolled out with tonight's upgrade.

Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion on my part about this.

Thanks,
-Steve

There will be an StockXpert site outage tonight at 9pm ET. We will be rolling out a  major upgrade of the StockXpert application code base and database systems. This has been a huge undertaking that required a lot of dev time, but it's something that has to be done and has taken priority over other items. So in short, I don't think the reporting bug will be fixed by tomorrow, but I know it is one of the next items on the to-do list.

Thanks,
-Steve

I understand your concern, Lisa, but once it is fixed, earnings will appear and totals will be adjusted.

RT, right now JIU works similar to StockXpert subscriptions--all resolutions. There are no plans to change this, but nothing is set in stone. We want to give this a little more time before we evaluate and decide if we can make adjustments.

Thanks,
-Steve

Hi guys,

Thanks for calling this out. There has been no change in how Photos.com and JIU+ sales are reported in your balance sheet. They will appear as separate line items. I will look into the sudden lack of Photos.com sales

Thanks,
-Steve

It will be fixed on a universal basis. Sorry. I did not mean to infer contributors had to contact us to have the issue fixed on an individual basis.

Just to reiterate, on Photos.com, only "Super", "Ultra", and EPS sized files are sold as PPDs and ELs. "Super" roughly equates to an "XL" Stockxpert image, and an "Ultra" roughly equates to an "XXL" Stockxpert image. An image is categorized as "Super" if its longest side has a length between 3300 and 4824 pixels. An image is categorized as "Ultra" if its longest side is longer than 4824 pixels.

Thanks,
-Steve

Hi digiology,

Thans for bringing this to our attention. That image should be a Super PPD and be available as an EL. We are aware that a few images have been miscategorized and we are working to correct this.

In the meantime, if that images receives any downloads at that size on Photos.com, please let me know.

Thanks!

Thanks, Lisa, for those nice words.

Leaf, if you opt-out of subscriptions, your images will not be available on Photos.com subs or PPD.

Hi Bobby, it's the decision to do it that needs careful consideration by others, and it's not a decision to be made overnight.

I do just want to let you know that we are not going to get everything right the first time all the time :), we will need to experiment, but we will make sure we communicate better any changes we plan on making and provide more time to solicit feedback about these changes.

Thanks,
-Steve

Hi guys,

Sorry I have not been addressing the EULA change questions. I simply don't have an answer. Changing the EULA is not a unilateral decision; it's something that needs some serious consideration and discussion by people at a higher level than myself. It's definitely not something we could do in the short time we had.

We do not not filter images out of search results based on whether they are opted-in or out. Subscription buyers will see non-sub images.

Sorry Tom about the confusion. We are also distributing that message via sitemail with a more inclusive intro. :)

Correct, Jan. Cafepress and eBay type print-on-demad distribution is prohibited under the the Photos.com EULA.

Thanks,
Steve

I think I have somewhere read (I do not know where) resale of itemes with our photos on it through ebay or cafepress is prohibited under the EULA of Photos.com. Is this covered by the prohibition of selling Physical Goods (for resale through on-demand services)? Can you clarify Steve?

StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert Images on Photos.com

Hi Steve,

I understand the confusion. Right now the EULA does say that buyers need to credit Jupiterimages (we will review, clarify and fix all this), but the clause about ownership states that "The Image(s) shall remain the sole and exclusive property of JUPITERIMAGES, or its licensors."

This means images owned by Jupiter are Jupiter's property and images owned by the licensor (you) are your property.

Thanks,
-Steve
