Adobe Stock / Re: 2023 Adobe Stock contributor bonus plan details
« on: February 20, 2024, 01:39 »
I have just been in contact with Adobe support about the double plans.
The solution in my case ended up with canceling my paid plan, and keeping the redemption plan, which then got some extra days added for the days I lost on the paid plan.
I have the same problem with the double plan - both are called "Foto Abo (20GB)" here in Germany
-> one has 21 items
-> other hast 29 items

Tried to reach the support via phone and chatbot (btw. the chatbot in german is not working at all)
-> on phone the automatic voice said after about 1min of talking and asking: "There is a problem with the phone lines - beep beep beep"
(Btw. could not find any support email adress on the support center page in german)

I guess I will have to use the same solution as Jens - cancel the paid plan before the next payment and use the other plan, that should work hopefully.
I had the same number of items on both, but they could of course still be diffferent.

Support in danish was also off-line, but I chose the english.
After a few initial questions and answers with the bot, I got connected to a human supporter.
And it was this supporter that did the work with canceling the paid plan and extending the redeemed plan with the lost number of days.

Don't cancel your paid plan yourself. You risk having to pay for the remaining time of the year plan.

BTW, for the new plan there is a button for entering a new code next year  :)

Thank you Mat,

As I got all the creative apps I have a question:

I already have a subscription for photoshop and lightroom on the same account, will this payment stop automatically or do I have to cancel this subscription?

This question has been asked in a couple of different ways here and the answer applies to all. If the subscription you currently have is EXACTLY the same as the new subscription provided with the bonus code, then you can redeem the bonus code and the expiration date will simply extend by 1 year.

If however, the subscription you have is different in any way (such as the amount of cloud storage included) then redeeming the bonus code will open a new subscription running in parallel with the old one. You need to cancel the old subscription or you will continue to pay for it.

As many of you have discovered, the codes are applied to the contributor portal for those who have qualified. Thank you to everyone for your active contribution and helping to make Adobe Stock what it is. We are truly grateful to you for your efforts and hope you enjoy the year of Creative Cloud!

As always, stay creative!

Mat Hayward

Mat,

Based on my experience, it can be tricky. I thought my current plan was the "generic photography plan". However, I did run into the parallel subscription issue. I think what may have happened is that the "generic photography plan" of a year ago is not exactly the same as the "generic photography plan" of today....so I ended up with a parallel subscription.

OK, thanks for the report. I'll look into this and share what I find out. It's possible there is a change I'm not aware of. Can anyone else confirm they redeemed a code for EXACTLY the same plan but instead of extending the expiration, a different subscription opened in addition to the existing sub?

Thanks again,

Mat

I am seeing more reports of new subscriptions being added instead of extending existing subs. Since it's a holiday in the US, many folks are off today. If you haven't already redeemed your code, and you have an active subscription. I recommened holding off until I can confirm whether there is an issue or not.

Thanks for your patience,

Mat Hayward
I wish I had seen this post before I redeemed the code.
Hopefully it will soon be sortet out, also for those of us who now have two subscriptions.

But apart from that, it's great to get the bonus again  :)

...
Mat,I'm interested in knowing,if possible,if every real environment can be considered a topic, for example bananas in a basket in the middle of the grass,or bananas hanging on a wall are okay?
...
Just be careful with the banana on a wall, since this has already been made as expensive art  :)

Adobe Stock / Re: RAW will soon need a different GPU
« on: September 30, 2023, 04:23 »
If your GPU is very old, it might not be compatible with PS.

I had that problem with my laptop, but I found a way to force PS to use it anyway.

You can try to making a .txt file called PSUserConfig.txt, containing the following:

# Force GPU On
GPUForce 1

And save it in [Installation Drive]:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\[Photoshop_version]\[Photoshop_version]Settings\

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock generative AI reminders
« on: August 26, 2023, 08:25 »
As I was looking through all those AI generated stock photos, I realized 70-80% of stock photos as we know can be generated by AI.  So, why bother to shoot stock photos anymore unless it's editorial news photos, I thought.  It's over for real camera shooters.  AI generators don't have to hire models, travel to locations and setup lightings.  Can't compete against those.
And further, why would anyone buy an AI generated stock image, when they could just as well have their own unique image AI generated?

I just noticed that I have not had any OD sales since the middle of May. About 5% of my sales used to be OD's, but now there are none.

Have others noticed the same trend?

The Microstock Agencies could start pruning the unused content: If you photo was not sold during last year, it will be deleted.
I recently had a first time sale at SS of a file that was uploaded in 2018.
It brought me $52, which I wouldn't have had, if the file had been deleted.

General Stock Discussion / Re: SS vs Adobe performance
« on: July 15, 2023, 05:14 »
I have more downloads now on AS than SS, but since I never have big EL's or SOD's on AS, SS still wins on earnings most months.

11
I got tired of seing regular sales disappear, and replaced by 0.03$ sales, so I deleted all my files.
Then I wrote 123RF:

"Dear 123RF. I have had it with the Download Pack earnings, so please close my contributor account. I have already deleted all my files."

The next day I got this answer:
Quote
Hi there,
Thank you for your email.

As part of our Termination procedure, kindly send us an email clearly stating the following information:

Your Full Name.
Your 123RF Username.
Reason for account termination.
And that you request and authorize us to remove your profile from 123rf.com and delete all your content with us.
That you wish to terminate the 123RF Contributor Agreement and agree to the Terms and Conditions as set in the Contributor Agreement for the termination process.
Do include all the above five points in your reply.
Please also note that your balance earnings will be forfeited based on our agreement policy which you have accepted during the account registration.  AGREEMENT

We thank you for your time with us and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

I replied with all the information they requested, and got a confirmation back the same day, that my account was terminated.

So for me it took two days to close the account. May 28 - 29.

12
Almost a year after I asked Wirestock to terminate my account, and six months after they had confirmed that all files had been removed, I started uploading the files I had there to my own SS account.

But then I got a couple of rejects, because the content had priviously been submitted, and I found that they were still present as Wirestock files.

According to Wirestock, all my files had been removed long ago, so it appears that their system doesn't keep a 100% track of the files. I sent them links to the two files, and they removed them immediately.

Hopefully I don't get more rejects for previously submitted content.

Yesterday I decided to apply for a Payoneer account, and was quickly approved.

But I managed to get it blocked at first log in.

The code, that was supposed to come at my phone, didn't arrive.
I tried resend a couple of times, and when it finally came, I got a message that it had taken too long, when I entered it(it was only a few seconds after it arrived). On next attempt, I got a message that I had entered a wrong code too many times(I had only entered a code once), and that my account was blocked.

I have not been able to find a way to contact Payoneer about the blocked account, so I guess that's it for me with Payoneer.

have you tried using a different email?
It would of course be an option to close the account I just made, and make a new with a different email address. But getting blocked because their system didn't work right, and not being able to contact them about it as a first impression, tells me that Payoneer is not for me. I would be afraid that it could happen again.

When is the Blue Bar appearing? I need to redeem the code to continue to use my Adobe Illustrator which has just expired today.

Take a look at the Adobe Stock Contributor portal now. If you qualified for the bonus code, you should now see the blue redemption bar. Congratulations to everyone who qualified and THANK YOU for being such an important part of Adobe Stock!

Without you, there is no us.

Thank you  :)
Next payment is now in march 2024  :)

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock "Contributor Fund"
« on: December 27, 2022, 05:21 »
This explains why the "Total downloads" on some days in december doesn't match the number I get when adding the numbers in the details for each day. I have been wondering about that.

"Contrubutor Fund" sales are reported in the numbers, but are not shown in the details.

Just noticed that the earnings page changed again.

I looks a lot like the old page, and so far I like it  :)

I can only hope it changes back.
Well, my joy was short. The new design is already back for me  >:(

It's not so easy to see in the statistics, but I think on average I have about one image sale out of 100 larger than 20$.

And I think it's about the same as before, but the average amount is lower now. And my total number of sales is also lower.

20
I fill out in the beginning of the month, but it seems that there isn't a lot of interest for the poll anymore.

123RF / Re: Ridiculous Refunds
« on: July 14, 2022, 07:30 »
Me too, but for an image sold in July 2016.
Now I just noticed, that this refund is for the same sale as the first refund in april.

So now waiting to see, if there are more refunds in the next days, as there were in april. Unfortunately I only noted sale details for the first refund in april.

To me, the Wirestock concept seemed great, so I started uploading to them.

But soon, long review times started to annoy me, and also that I didn't know if my images were accepted or rejected by the different agencies. There were also some strange rejections by Wirestock. And it could take weeks from an image was accepted by Wirestock, till it showed up at for example Shutterstock.

Then I had five images that I wanted removed again, because they were more artistic than my usual stock photos, and I wanted them to be accociated with my own name. I wrote Wirestock, and they agreed to remove them.
But after the 90 days + 30 days for each 100 items in my portfolio that are stated in "Terms of Use", 3 out of the 5 images were still online.

I wrote Wirestock that they had not lived up to their own "Terms of Use" and that I now wanted to terminate my account, which they agreed to to do.

So, now I just hope that they will live up to the 120 days that they need according to their "Terms of Use" when it comes to termination of an account.

But I have tried Wirestock now, and it's not for me. Guess I prefer to be more in control at each agency.
