Canva / Re: Almost any images get rejected instantly?!
« on: November 17, 2023, 13:11 »
I'm also in the same boat. The Canva system is completely strange. All the images i upload on Canva are accepted on all other sites, but on Canva they get rejected within seconds after upload. The worst thing is that the images were uploaded to Canva in full size and resolution and are therefore on Canva's servers. Even when rejected, nobody knows what happens to them. In addition, you have no possibility to delete images from Canva anyway. This is another phenomenon that worries me. Over the last few days i have repeatedly started new tests with uploads, even uploading the same images with slightly different file names ... all in vain, because here too they were rejected immediately after uploading. The question is whether it is simply certain keywords that are responsible for the rejections or whether the AI at Canva is programmed incorrectly ... very disappointing experience and not really worth the effort (anymore).

After 13 years of SS the time has come to say goodbye. Can somebody tell me how to delete pictures on SS? Clearly, i removed all my images arranged and sorted under the catalog manager. That was the easy part. But there is more ... How can i delete those files not included in my catalog manager selections? Tips are highly appreciated. Thanks!

General Stock Discussion / Re: the best month ever
« on: December 30, 2017, 11:34 »
That's funny Steve - i am going the "same direction" - down, down, down. After over 10 years of contribution to SS this is my worst december ever. And no doubt: November also was one of the poorest months within those ten years (for me). So yes, there is a significant trend ... DOWN. So sad ...

« on: October 26, 2016, 13:48 »
My fingers hurt. Deleting 1.600 files by hand is a pain in the a... I've been with iStock exactly for about 10 years now. Started in november 2006. But now the bow has been overdrawn. Enough is enough. I can only but appeal to all those fellow contributors to withdraw respectively delete their portfolios. If there are no files to sell may be iStock management will come to grips. Yes, it is a sad and memorable day. I am done with them  :(  Goodbye Getty.

Found this rather interesting Portfolio today: http://www.shutterstock.com/g/BlurryMe
What do you think about it?

General Stock Discussion / Re: iStock - Account balance
« on: August 09, 2016, 13:21 »
The account balance thing is back to normal. Once i started this thread i was not able to log into any account information. So nowhere my "hard earned money" was visible. I also couldn't access the "financials>payouts report page - so i was kind of puzzled. First i supposed it is kind of a "punishment" for deleting files. I deleted several hundred files of my port due to the changes iStock is going to make. But - SpaceStock - PP hasn't brought up any numbers till know - at least for me ...

General Stock Discussion / iStock - Account balance
« on: August 06, 2016, 10:31 »
Hi all, just noticed that my account balance (right down in the site's footer area) has disappeared. There is not even 0.00 anymore. Nothing. No numbers .. Just a black area. Anybody else having the same happening. Furthermore i can't access my balance overview in the personal section anymore.

ShadySue, your workaround tip was useful! However it is a quite tedious procedure though it works.

So today (10:00 CEST) i tried again to deactivate some files again. This time on my Mac. Guess what happened? Nothing! The same strange site with "Something got scrambled. We're sorry, something went wrong. Try refreshing the page or check @iStock for updates. Our best techies are working hard to put everything back together again." So apparently i've lost control over my files ... >:(

10
Shelma is exactly on the point. Just tried again - Win/Firefox - no chance to edit. Apple iPad - does not work. Lenovo tablet - does not work. Later on  i'll try again with my Mac. So far no possibility or option to deactivate files ...

11
Site maintenance should have been yesterday. I was just trying again (16:20 h CEST) to deactivate some files - the problem persists. Deactivation isn't possible ... Strange  >:(

12
Dear all, just logged in into my iStock account for the further deactivation of images. When clicking on the image thumbnail to edit its properties, a screen appears: "Something got scrambled" ... blocking the image "maintenance" site. Anybody else?

After the "threatening" iStock announcement and a month of June, where partner sales have only been one fifth compared to month of May, i finally decided to delete one third of my uploaded pictures at once. I hate to do it - but i think it is a MUST concerning the changes to come. In the last 10 years i have seen earnings fall and fall on IS whereas other agencies have been profitable. Although the sum of sales on IS (including partner site sales) were somewhat acceptable - the trend showed and shows a regular decrease. So maybe the time has come ...

Just use DP. Apparently you are selling over there. They allow the download of your own images.

I am glad I've dropped them two months ago. No worries at all  :)

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Help me to choose my first DSLR
« on: October 01, 2015, 05:56 »
Hi nadavgs, for sure you don't have to go full frame right at the beginning. So proposing a Canon 6D as a "start up" machine doesn't make sense.
Try finding a small Nikon like 5200/5300 and get it with the 18-105 mm kit lens. This lens performs quite good and it is affordable. When you earn
your first dollars you can think about getting some prime lenses, maybe the 50 mm f/1.8 or the 35 mm f/1.8. It all depends on your preferences.
Those two lenses aren't too expensive. Or maybe have a look at the m43 camera range where you can surely get a used Olympus EM 5 / EM 10 for small money.
And then try to master Photoshop. This is essential  :D

Adobe Stock / Re: Sales nearly stopped at Fotolia
« on: September 28, 2015, 07:28 »
Mellimage, i am with you  :( Was looking forward to the big Fotolia/Adobe deal thinking that sales should improve ...
But for me it was quite the contrary - sales fell asleep ... soooo sad!

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Photo sales decline since June
« on: September 06, 2015, 05:58 »
Herg, i am totally with you  :(  I do experience a steady decline in sales since months. After all July this year has been my worst month ever since joining them in 2006. I only can remember my first years on IS where IS alone generated far more income than all those other agencies in total. Also new uploads seem to make hardly any sense. When inspecting views on new files there is a big black 0 (zero) behind them. So frustrating. May be exclusive members are still comfortable with their situation, as far as i am concerned there definitely is kind of disappointment ...

I do sell Christmas images the whole year round ... the earth is round ... so somewhere on this planet
Christmas images are needed regardless of the European festive season :-)

123RF / Re: 123rf - reviewed status for 12 days now ?
« on: July 30, 2015, 06:33 »
You know what: That was one of the reasons i left 123rf. Some days ago i deleted all my files
being a happy man now  :). I never could understand the Microstock Poll results on the right
of this website where 123rf ranks at the top of the middle tiers. Not a bit would this be
my result. Amongst the agencies i do submit pictures to, 123rf ranked at the very bottom
of the charts concerning earnings...
Nevertheless: I also had review times being so long and emailed the 123rf support-team.
They took care of my case and inspected the pending files rather quick. So why not send
an e-mail to 123rf support-team?

Adobe Stock / Re: The new fotolia...low sales
« on: June 29, 2015, 03:23 »
The assumed rise in income didn't take place - at least not for me.
So until now nothing changed in a noticeable way.

However: Uploaded files are pending for already a week now ...
Maybe that's something new ...

Dreamstime.com / Re: Do you believe that DT is dying?
« on: June 25, 2015, 04:21 »
Stopped uploading there a month ago after having my worst month ever (after 9 years of membership and a growing portfolio).
Actually i already sold 5 (five) files this month ... but to conclude: there is no more motivation for me to upload new work.
May be this will change somehow in the future but for now i am done with DT  :(

Sgoodwin, for me Canva is already clearly ahead of 123.
And the trend continues ... :)
