@increasingdifficulty: Thank you very much for that helpful information! Was exactly what i was searching for.

When you say "can take almost every lens" you mean to get an adapter, maybe something like a speedbooster? I could make sense to do it that way and have dual use for the Nikon lenses, keeping the D7100 for high quality images.

Photography Equipment / Getting started with video
« on: August 21, 2017, 04:33 »
After having 2.500 images online i want to start with taking footage now.

I own a Nikon D7100 with Sigma 17-50 2,8 and Sigma 50-150 2,8 plus a Velbon tripod. I love the image quality of this combination but for video i find it very complicated:

- very difficult to find sharpness plane on liveview monitor
- autofocus not usable in reality
- no aperture controll in liveview

I am trying to find a system to substitute my nikon gear which gives me best photo and video quality and i was thinking about

- Canon 70d or 5d Mark II
- Panasonic GH4

Questions:

- i am not sure if getting a Canon DSLR is a good idea for video regarding the better possibilities of DSLMs like 4K and focus peaking etc.
- i am not sure if the GH4 will get me a image quality near D7100 or 70D (regarding myself as semi-pro because i was a freelance photojournalist once)

Maybe someone has experiences with that systems or a better idea, maybe Sony or some improvements for my Nikon system?

Im wondering about the same thing - do i have to re-upload the files that need to be revised or can change something on the web frontend?

If that also happens if you setup a new pseudonym?

So nobody can really say how the New payment structure changed our income, right?

Sounds like a good plan to me, i have been thinking in a similar way. Im waiting to test editorial RF on Alamy and Fotolia (is about to come if i am right) and see how they are doing.

Has anyone experience with Robert Harding, is it worth to send best travel/nature images to them?

General Stock Discussion / Need advice: Image rotation
« on: November 22, 2016, 15:22 »
Hey everybody,

i have an issue i dont unterstand. When i upload images in portrait orientation to 123RF and iStock they show up in wrong orientation and get rejected of course. On Shutterstock there is no problem.

In Windows Explorer and other viewing tools they are shown up correctly. Turning them in different rotations and back doesnt help.

Maybe someone can help me with that?

Rainer

Thanks for that information. Will you also already implement the possibility to upload editorial picturess as RF?

Cant wait to see that happen - a exciting new sales channel. If they manage to implement it well nobody needs to worry about istock anymore

I would recommend to touch them, youll get a better feeling which one suits you.

D3200 has a pretty good sensor for that price

Segment "Partner Program" should be relevant also?

Guess that leaves Bigstock as an option....

EZ seems a little bit weak to me too, cannot see a real concept.

Hello everybody,

right now im on SS, FT, 123RF, IS, DT and Alamy with descending priority coming down the list. My portfolio is 80 % editorial and travel.

I wonder if another agency is worth the effort? Is there any trending site?

Thanks
Rainer

@Mantis: Thanks! There are a few hundred euros between D7000 and D7100 ;)

My thought on the microstock prices was: Looking on Fotolia, you get higher prices for bigger pictures. Im wondering, if it really makes a significant difference of income

I recommend 123RF. Easy uploading and more sales than DT, at least for me
