11 days.
Interestingly today I went to level 2 in videos and photos total of 92.70 Adobe 64.35 so far.
I love Adobe and I see that many of you sell more there than SS.
But not with me.
the order is
SS, Istock and Adobe , Pond 5 .....every month.
Maybe lifestyle and extreme sports sell more in others.

Higher RPD yes in Adobe without a doubt..

Good year and sales to all.

Pond5 / Re: How has Pond5 been in 2021?
« on: October 04, 2021, 14:14 »
I'm not exclusive, I earn 40% commission.
For me 2021 has been better than 2020 at 15%, but very unstable, between months almost 0 and months with good sales...
Far from the golden age that was 2017/18 for me.

This year, there were 53 sales so far, being; 6 in 4K and 3 in 360 (Go Pro fusion) and everything else in HD.

No photo sales this year there.

I always upload to Pond5 when I have the time and I can. 10 sales of new clips I uploaded in 2021.
Some clips with sales Bussines license, Custom license and Premium License. Motivates me to keep uploading.

I always have best-seller sales, since 2015 when I started. Not as well as before, but they sell...

Most sales are individual license.
I had a GPP increase in sales, and it doesn't bother me, it's a good commission.
It's always been a good video site, accepting the vast majority of clips, easy to work with.

I love Pond5. It's not my number 1 video site in sales and earnings.
But it is the site that sells the most in 4K.
When I think about uploading in 4K I have more hope for Pond5.

I hope it will sell well after this pandemic.
I do extreme sports and a little lifestyle, so now post covid should improve for me and I believe for most...

I'm not a microstock professional, I can't say if it's worth "investing" time and money in new images and being 100% in this business, but for me these commissions pay some bills and beers with my wife...
Sorry for using google translate hauhauhauha
Good sales to all...

Nothing in the first wave and 4 in the second wave. $20 gain.

Worst year since April 2016.

General - Stock Video / Re: How bad is it for the rest of you?
« on: January 23, 2021, 06:15 »
Really complicated.
Investing in new images is perhaps unfeasible.
In 2018 and 2019 they were excellent for me, with approximately 3000 images and videos
Today I have more than 10,000 images and videos, a lot of lifestyle, easy to photograph on a daily basis and with friends.
My sales fell 35% in 2020 compared to 2019.
Whoever made a lot of covid images / videos must have balanced, I think.
Anyway, every day the RPD down there.
We live in crazy and unstable times, difficult to predict.

My worst start to the year since 2016.
Not only on SS but on all sites.
We'll see.....

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock vs Adobe Stock
« on: February 12, 2020, 12:01 »
I started in 2015
Blue = Shutterstock (1086 images and videos)
Orange = Fotolia / Adobe (1081 images and videos)

Adobe is the best RPD and is improving every day.
But the SS for me is unbeatable, for me.
Last year stagnated just like 2018, but still always the best agency in the final total.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Is this January especially low for you?
« on: January 23, 2020, 07:13 »
It is horribly bad this month. Never seen anything this bad in all my years of doing microstock.

Exactly the same here. At the moment my worst January in 4 years. :-(

This year was good for me, better than 2018, a total revenue increase of 13%. :-) :-) :-)
But for the last 6 months I have been experiencing instability and some significant declines, example of the POND5 that has fallen wildly since April.

For me if 2020 equals 2019 it will be excellent, but I have my doubts.

Increasing by more than 100% the images / videos (from 3000 to 6300) of my portfolios.
Compared to 2018, 2019 I had:

SHUTER. Equal without increased earnings. Very good months and others well below. Unstable, but being number 1 of all.

Adobe 41% increase :-) Big surprise selling more videos.

Pond 5 fall by -44% :-( I don't know what's going on over there. Sad.

Getty (exclusive images) 26% increase. I like this site. My 2nd best. I will look for alternative images (if any) and upload them there. Big sales make up for it yet.

Istock (started end of 2018) so the portfolio is current. I have good sales over there, although I hear very badly from there for some here. In fact in the year total I received more money there than in Adobe.

Dreamstime with no increase in earnings.

Videoblocks Marketplace closed (I was upset, selling well over there)

For me it's great, I see it as a passive income without major investments on my part.

If I were a full time photographer on Microstock (not the case) I would look for other options also outside this market.
Millions of images and video and each day more with small values.

Happy new year to all and excellent 2020.

A very good month, because usually December is bad because of the holidays. I had good sales on Christmas week.

« on: November 26, 2019, 19:29 »
Amazing how the reviewers or artificial intelligence went crazy.
Very boring all this.
I edited 7 videos and uploaded, were denied for various reasons. I sent again because Pond5 and Adobe had accepted. They were not accepted again.
I got the impression that the reviewers were crazy.
What did I do?
I sent it one by one.
Of the 7 videos, 5 of them were accepted after submitting by 3rd.
I believe sending in Batch is worse than one on one.
I ridicule it, but in my case it worked.

I had a batch of 6 images that had gotten rejected due to noise and focus.  All images were in focus, but a couple did have a small amount of noise.  After reading your post, I decided to submit them one at a time.  All but one was accepted.  :)

Yeah.
Something very crazy is happening over there.
Now I'm in this madness.
I edit everything, keywords, titles and saved.
And I send it one by one.
My God, what a job that works.
Good luck to everyone.

They are totally strangers.
I started in 2015 to upload to SS.
Since then 4 or 5 years have changed the pattern several times.
It was super hard before.
Then they were accepting repeated, unqualified images.
Now this
Patience and rework.
Good luck.

Pond5 / Re: Pond 5 Sales Dropped Off
« on: August 02, 2019, 11:58 »
Hi All. I have been a Pond5 contributor since 2012. While I do not have a ton of clips up there (300 or so), I have some unique clips. 2017 I averaged over $400/month (with less footage up there). 2018 much more volatile with best month being $621 and worst being $235.

2019 however peaked in February and has been dropping like a rock ever since with last month sales being $70.

Has anyone else experienced drop off? Did they change their algorithm or something?

My story is equal to yours, same number of clips, sales and same drop in sales. My last 4 months have been very low.
The only difference is that I started in 2015 on Pond5.
Looking at the prices of the competition clips, yes they were lowered the values, by Pond5 I think.
When this happened to me, I raised my prices as they were before.
Maybe I was penalized in the search for results.
Similar videos to mine by some competitors are between $ 25 and $ 50 for HD and I was between $ 59 and $ 79.
Some videos, which I did not sell or with very little sales, I lowered the value to $ 49 for who knows, be in search of results.
The clips that I always had excellent sales kept the same values of $ 69 and $ 79 HD

But yes, tough times in Pond5, at least for me too.

16
Been selling on Pond5 for over 10 years, do this full time for a living, whatever they're done they've really screwed things up. Sales tanked since the utterly stupid exclusivity program. Such a shame

That's exactly what I mean.
Many views and very few sales.
Since they made the changes of exclusivity and non-exclusivity (40%)

17
3 months dead for me, I do not know why.
I have many views and few sales.
SS has sold much more video.
It's sad because I had 3 excellent years in POND5.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 video sales since royalty cut
« on: June 02, 2019, 14:30 »
Hello
I had my worst month in four years. A gigantic drop in sales. Coincidence or not with the fact that I am not exclusive.
The other agencies remain the same, but POND5 very badly.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 video sales since royalty cut
« on: May 16, 2019, 13:46 »
Hello, it was my worst month since I started with them in 2015.
I even emailed them for simple concern.
Because I had the same visualizations in my videos, same as the other months, everything is within the parameters.
I had no fall in statistics,
But my payment yesterday was horrible.
I do not know what happened, maybe even bad luck.
My average revolves around $ 400.
Yesterday I received $ 69.

Shutterstock.com / Re: How rare are Enhanced sales?
« on: May 06, 2019, 10:21 »
In all my life I have had 25440 downloads, 43 of these sales being enhanced license.
In recent years they are rare, but last month I had 5, a big surprise :-)
Honestly the SS are for me, far above all agencies, at all, signatures, videos, enhanced license ...
When I see the ranking, in my case the SS would be 3 to 4 times over the second.

VideoBlocks / Re: How to leave as a contributor
« on: March 31, 2019, 19:38 »
I was just going to post to see if anyone is leaving SB.  I think I am going to close my account there. My 3-4 sales a month has gone to zero a month once they made the "good news" announcement.

The same with me :-(

General Stock Discussion / Re: Pond5 "Good News"!
« on: March 21, 2019, 13:13 »
What ..
I usually sell well on Pond 5 and on other sites.
Now logically I will not be exclusive, seeing as well in other agencies.
I think I'm going to have to raise the value of the videos in Pond5, to lose less.
Example. A video that sold for $ 69 and made $ 34.50, now I'm going to win $ 27.60.
Either I settle for this or I raise the value from $ 69 to $ 86 to continue earning the same $ 34 and running the risk of not selling because of the sale value.
Very sad this.
Storyblocks is already finished for me in videos after the increase of values and commission break.
Now I'm afraid POND5 will stop being my second best site ...
Anyway...

23
I like Adobe, I actually i preferred Fotolia and sell more videos there.
But the SS video sales for me are fantastic. Much better than Adobe.
Same videos, tags etc .... however every month SS improves sales and Adobe falls and falls.

In video earnings for me:
1.SS
2. Pond5
3. Getty
4. Istock
5.Adobe
6. Storyblocks.

Istock pays infinitely less than Adobe or SS as a percentage of commission, but sells very well and generates a lot of revenue. I've always heard about Istock. In fact it is ridiculous commissions of 1 dollar per video in some cases. I took too long to upload. In the end it is much better than Adobe. Will understand?!?!

So 50%, 35%, 30%, 20% or 15% in my opinion is relative.
Some give you more luck or chance depending on the agency and content.
Anyway ...

Do you have editorial video content or all commercial?

Commercial only

24
Well all I know is that since they effectively de-activated the Fotolia site my sales have crashed!  :-\
Unfortunately the same thing happens to me. I loved Fotolia and Instant. I sold a lot of photo and video over there ... Good times ... It was my favorite agency.
Photos taken with iphone and well treated in photoshop are almost all rejected nowadays.
Before it was not like this, almost all accepted and there were always visualizations.
The last month of February sales started to fall and March this horrible. My ranking has gotten a lot worse.
Maybe it's me that I'm not doing a good job.
However on other sites I did not feel the sales drop, only in Adobe. Who will know ...
I wish good sales to all ...
