Visit contributor.stock.adobe.com to sync your account.

If you are using the same Adobe ID that is associated with your Fotolia account, you should be synced automatically. If not, you will need to select yes when asked if you are an existing Fotolia member. At that time you will add your Fotolia login and password.

The login information for Adobe Stock is your Adobe ID, not your Fotolia ID.

If you created your Fotolia account after September of 2016 you won't be able to sync as the Fotolia account you created is only good for the purpose of purchasing content, not selling it. You will need to submit through the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal.

Adobe Stock / Re: how to delete my adobestock contributer account ?

Why are you asking us here? We're not Adobe employees.
I am asking because I thought maybe someone had a similar issue and sorted it out, sorry if I wasted your precious time reading my post.

I don't think you wasted anyone here's precious time, after all, they are here on a forum instead of off working or enjoying family.  ;D

But you asked a question and the best answer was given right off...Mat works for Adobe and he can help. Even if someone else had the same issue, they likely went through the same process as you. I don't imagine they want people constantly going back and changing important details in their account. To me, it sounds like they are trying to protect everyone from fraud.
Mat is now tying to sort it out, hopefully he will be able to fix it or else I will have to restart the whole thing all over again for fotolia and adobe .. regarding account details changes , it's been only one change that I tried to do in 2 years now, and I didn't do it myself, customer support did it. honestly if I knew it would cause all this chaos, I wouldn't have asked for it in the first place .

I contacted Mat, he's very helpful, but it will take engineers at least a week to look into the messed up situation that happened to my portfolio, so, if eventually I have to take the second option of deleting the whole account and start uploading again on a new one, how can I do it ?

Adobe Stock / how to delete my adobestock contributer account ?
« on: September 29, 2017, 17:26 »
I had a very complicated issue with my Adobe ID account when I asked the customer service chat to change the country in my account ( because someone smart there thinks we can't do it ourselves ) so he initially said that even he can't do it, and then he came with an idea that he made a new account for me with the same email with the country changed ! so I said ok, I was a bit worried about my portfolio in adobe stock ( especially that I had all my photo data whipped from my laptop few days before that , very sad story ) but he said it will be ok, then after he did that I checked my adobestock account, the photos were still there, but strangely, the sales disappeared and returned back to that dash, well, it wasn't that much anyway so I thought it maybe was just a reset, after that day, zero sales there, I can still upload photos through FTP but stocksubmitter keeps giving me error messages abut adobe id authentication ( that didn't happen before that account modification move ). now the only thing I can think of if that my adobestock account has been corrupted and I need to make a new one, so I will try to find a way to retrieve my photos from the laptop but I can't even find a way to delete or unpublish my portfolio in my corrupted account in order to be able to upload the same photos on the new account! and ideas ?

You will have certain images that sell really well on some sites, but are never found on others.

any clue why this happens ? and how to meet every agency search criteria ?

Also bear in mind customers may get different results depending on their locations cookies  and (maybe) their customer profile maintained by the site.

obviously I need to study more about how search engines work 😂😂

I am asking because I found out that some images for example have made it somewhere between the first and 5th pages of ( creative) in Alamy, and I am not sure if this is an indication that those images are doing well( even if there is no sale yet ) or is it just wrong to think this way ?!

You can check on Alamy measures to see which types of keywords clients are searching and how they correspond with your portfolio - views and zooms.

Even better is to see what "all of alamy" is searching on any given time period for up to a year and see if you can include some of these "hot" keywords within your images (don't do it if they don't fit the image as that's just spamming). I've attached a screenshot of the most popular keywords on Alamy for the past year.
that's a very precious advice, thank you. unfortunately I don't have the time lately to shoot what is trending so I am just shooting what I usually shoot, that's why I am concerned more about how my images perform for a certain keyword and how that changes, trying to know if there are solid factors affecting that. it's a strange fact that most of my photos perform in alamy and Google search pretty much better than other agencies specific search.

Hi Wael

It is difficult to know how really Search Engines work as it code (of course) is secret. We are doomed to speculate and try to observe the behavior of sales as you are doing now.

It looks that sales influence images position in search, and maybe views... but the problem are these other "secret" factors.

totally agree, there is certainly something i don't understand in this so-called" search engine algorithm ". quick example, i searched on Google for my flower macro shots by ( colourful flower close up ), found couple of my images in the first page; one from IS and the other from Alamy, then went to Alamy, repeated the search, found the image in the second page in their ( creative ) section, then went to IS , did it again, couldn't found the image until the 10th page of results. i find this really odd. it's either too complicated so no one can really get how it works, or it's too random so no one can really depend on something like this to have some sort of a " sales predictability "

Newbie Discussion / images progression follow up !
« on: September 23, 2017, 18:59 »
hi guys, i have started doing MS about one month ago, as per your advices here, I did pay attention to keywording ( as much as I can of course) and to assess how good my images are doing in the agencies search engines, I am randomly searching every few days for certain keywords ( which I know I have used) I mean specific keywords like Wales, certain type of flower macro, etc. so far, I came to a conclusion that some are climbing slowly through the search results ladder so I know they are keyworded more or less correctly and some are buried down the engine so I try to have another look into how I titled, described and keyworded them. the question here is, is this method theorically correct or are the agencies boost new stuff up the search? I am asking because I found out that some images for example have made it somewhere between the first and 5th pages of ( creative) in Alamy, and I am not sure if this is an indication that those images are doing well( even if there is no sale yet ) or is it just wrong to think this way ?!

« on: September 04, 2017, 14:41 »
i do appreciate all the comments on this post, i am not that kind of person who would willingly allow for a false hope or miscalculated judgments. what i am trying to say is that you people, for sure, love photography and maybe some started doing it as a hobby like me and then loved it and enjoyed doing it. also, from what i have read so far in the forum, the vast majority are doing microstock business as a side stream income. based on that, why not just enjoy it and be a bit more tolerant to whatever this strange market brings ?!

Im in Bev Hills, and 74 been seeing many doctors at ceders for 30 Years.. Also had open heart surgery recently. I love Doctors who take Pictures, All Mine do and all are My students who come to every workshop I do and Bought every Book I wrote. For some reason Doctors Love Photography. I just wish they were better Photographers. I tell them all the time you come to see me with a $45,000 Phaseone Camera and you Haven't learned DOF yet, Or exposure or WB or.....Composition.  ......Why Is that?? and why for gods sake do you want to do penny stock??? Torture? Need 25 Cents or less? Can you do Unique Images and thousands of them.

My advice is enjoy your Hobby. My docs do.My surgeon was Dr Trento.

Have fun.

thanks for the advice, it's a hobby basically, but i am just trying to master the hobby in order to be satisfied ( at least technically) with the photos i may be able to take. as for stock, well, i find it interesting to have one of my photos appreciated and can be used for the benefit of someone else ( a bit more real than having so many likes for a photo on social media for example ) or at least this is how i see it, for now.

Newbie Discussion / what's with all the frustration !
« on: September 04, 2017, 07:51 »
I am new here and this is only my second post but I have read most of the recent topics and I can't help but notice the huge amount of frustration and disappointment and even discouragement sometimes ! I guess all newbies know that it's not a huge business, doesn't make u rich or even close but I think many of the friends who post and comment here are really discouraging. I know they are being realistic, I totally understand that, but you can be realistic and at the same time keep some optimistic views for those who are eager to try and go through this. I think one can be realistic but in the meantime supportive and optimistic.

Welcome to the forum and the microstock world. Be careful though, the 'doing it for fun' will soon become an addiction ;)
I am sure you will notice when I get addicted 😂

Welcome aboard.
If you just want to do this for fun, just do what you want.

Obviously you don't want to stop in the middle of surgery to snap a few for your microstock port.
but you've got a big leg into the system that I would never be able to get.
One model and property released shot of heart surgery would be worth 1000 shots of your local beach and your cat.

You could start with some staged stuff in your office with some medical equipment and no real patients which would be much easier.

Anyway best of luck and if your doing it for fun keep it fun.
thanks qwerty, I am now putting a plan regarding what I will be able to shoot, hopefully I will get some decent shots of things like interior, staff and some instruments and machines. I said I am doing it for fun but i know I will fall into the addiction soon, have experienced that before many times with other things 😂😂

my work flow included LR, stocksubmitter software and I already started uploading to some agencies including Adobe stock, 123rf, fotolia, shutterstock and bigstock. just uploaded about 150 of my library so far, planning to reach about 500 soon, started making a small studio for indoors photography ( gonna use it maybe for an hour aweek). AS for sales, got 2 sales for AS and SS since I started uploading ( 3 days ). I am not very sure where this is going but at least I got to know a nice group like this one and hopefully make some new friends who share that same love for photography even at the " doing it for fun" level. I just wanted to say hi and I wish all of you the best luck .

I like your attitude. "Doing it for fun" means that you have less pressure to make money and can pretty much shoot what you want and when you want. If it sells, great if not no big deal.

Feel free to ask anything and post images which you're not sure whether they will do well and we'll be happy to comment.

Good luck

Alex

p.s if you can get photos with anything to do with your cardiac surgery practice, these can be premium. Of course there's all sorts of hurdles (conflict of interest, obtaining model releases, etc.) But something to think about.
definitely thought about the medical photography especially with cardiac surgery, but as you mentioned it's not so easy, not only the releases and all that but also and mor3 critically the confidentiality, taking photos inside hospital even with the least details is a big issue, but I will look into that possibility, thanks for your supportive reply Alex, I really appreciate it

If you keep it for 'Fun' only that you will enjoy the MS world.  Welcome aboard... 8)
i do enjoy composing some nice photos when i am out, i was a bit disappointed to know that landscape and travel photos are not that popular in stock business, but i will continue shooting what i love anyway, maybe someone will like it. and for the other types of popular photos ( that i still consider odd, like indoors still life and medical industry for example) i will give it a shot and see what happens, i already have a positive result out of this, which is me building up a tiny studio for me for indoor photography which is something i never thought off, thanks so much for your comment
