iStockPhoto.com / Delayed Photo Reviews
« on: January 04, 2019, 12:47 »
Hi everyone,

Is anyone else experiencing substantial photo review delays, especially for photos with an attached model release?  I am now waiting several weeks for photos submitted with a model..

Have not experienced delays quite this long before.

General Stock Discussion / Bizarre sales stats?
« on: October 23, 2018, 14:00 »
So I started in July/August and I have made a few sales here and there.  But please tell me if this seems really odd:

94 sales with 550ish photos on shutterstock.
50 sales with 550ish photos on istock
0 sales with 150 photos on adobe.

Now granted, Adobe rejects photos at a much higher rate for me, but I have yet to make 1 sale in a few months... does that seem odd?  Or do adobe buyers perhaps have a more sophisticated taste in photos than other stock website buyers?

Any thoughts?

thanks!

Chris

Sorry, but  where do I find how much each photo I sold in September sold for?  I can't seem to find the individual photo sales breakdown...

I noticed a few weeks ago that they started taking forever to review submissions.

They also will randomly reject a massive batch of photos because of 'pixelation', but if I submit them again they will approve them all.

Seems like it's 24/7 amateur hour over there, I would agree they are also struggling.

Istock for sure, I still making more per photo there than at SS and I sell almost the same amount of photos.

Surprisingly Bigstock is doing okay for me.  Dreamstime, 123RTF, Desposit photos, and pond5 have been almost non-existent.

I made on average 55 cents per photo sale, much more than shutterstock.  Is this common?

Any sense when the royalty info will be out?  Still can't access it!

Hey everyone,

So I see the numbers of photos on the site now.  I think a few of my sales are from getty images, 1 is from thinkstock, a couple are istock subs and credits.

Do these different buyers mean different rates of return?

August 'sales' stats are in on the app, but not the actual stats on the site.

You're right, I posted here after realizing it was a more appropriate spot.  I spent much time navigating the FAQ and couldn't find an clear answer hence me coming here for one.

Won't double post again.

thanks

Forgive me for repeating a question that I am sure has been asked, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.

So I am a new amateur stock photographer who began in august.

On the 19th of september I finally received info that I have 6 sales for August.  However, when I look at my profile and 'downloads year to date' it says I have 28.  Is this because I have 6 sales in August and 24 more in September?

Or is this because sales don't equal downloads?

Or is there another reason?

Further, and to make things even more perplexing, when I click on royalties it gives the message "Royalties data will not be available until your first transaction has occurred. Please try again next month."

Why is this the notification if my sales now show up as 6 and my downloads are 28?  How do I have no transactions?

Any clarity would be much appreciated.

thanks!
