Have you noticed an explosion of rejections of images almost to 100%...
My personal record of rejected photos 13/13, yesterday 3/6, today 5/5... Only in December...
My approval rate(till now) about 80-90 %...
Similar for me, big drop at shutterstock while rejection rates at other sites remain relatively constant.

Naa, Im not one of the top dogs, somebody must have added my name - whoever it was, thank you But your are right, more people are adding their names on the list, I dropped 20 positions or so (923 now) in the last hours - and sure will drop out soon. But the heck with it, at least for a short time I was among the top 1000.....

Like you said, it's the top 1000 that join it. Which isn't necessarily everyone
No, I just found out about this list and surprisingly found my name on it - and I didnt join. Awesome work!

Man, was I scared reading your topic - I thought you have confirmed information about a black hole generated by LHC (Large Hadron Collider) in Geneva. Sooo relieved now....

Good question - I never calculated the results (because this was not the reason for buying my Canon 1ds MK II). Being lazy, I just took 2 images with 270 dl pretty similar results, XL+XXL -> 8% of DL, 28% of earnings.
Just checked some more images, the percentage is correct only if an image sells reasonably well (for my images that means more than 70-80 DL).

I do use the distribution. But no sales yet at all, I just joined Alamy in April 2008. BTW: welcome cyril - maybe we can meet at the next ILA in Berlin (nice images).

..................... He or she staunchly claims not to be ...
As far as I know bittersweet said he is not "bitter", but the list is quite long..... LOL, this little secret will keep us busy for some time.....stay tuned, the quest for bittersweet will continue after the commercial break....

Am I the only one who's wondering why she's artist of the week, I mean without being rude, a couple of weeks ago she uploaded 10 shots of people (possibly done in one studio session) who look related (family album?) that she's cross processed, and she's chosen as artist of the week!!
I'm not saying they're bad if you like that look, but to be totally honest apart from the interesting characters she's chosen, the photography isn't exactly awe inspiring.
I thought artist of the week was supposed to be someone who's demonstrated a bit more variety.
If you click on the business website you can see who he is (not "she"). No "mom with a camera" taking some pictures for the "family album". Just click on his pages "my work" and "bio/exhibition"..... Here are the infos listed at his istock account: Business Name: Deniz Saylan Business Website: www.denizsaylan.com

-> tankbmb
Similar experience here, I already posted this in the "ref5esh" thread. Ebb and flow + limited portfolio size (I have similar numbers, 500 UL/3300DL) + holiday season. And being non-exclusive doesn't help either (not surprising, no complaint).
We should be glad that the other sites compensate this drop (at least some of it).

Leaf: great shots!
Hope they sell well and you can get a lot of return for your $ 1.403,52 investment. Maybe you can keep us updated about your race for "break even", I keep my fingers crossed, good luck/success!

Funny coincidence - since Malta my istock revenue is going down - and my shutterstock revenue is going up....if the trend continues July will be shutterstock-BME and istock-"worst month of the year". Yeah, the gods of microstock are unpredictable....maybe I produced some bad karma in Malta....
