Dreamstime.com / Dreamstime Web extended license only 12 $ ?!?

I just sold a photo in a W-EL ( Web extended license ) for which the buyer paid 50 credits and I only got 12$ !!! I thought we get 50 % comission on all sales. The image is level 1 but this was still an extended license purchase. Is this normal or there was a mistake of some sort made ?

That no one, not even a newbie, exclusive, non-exclusive should offer any of their images new or old to thinkstock ? Not even to test out the water (If I ever get to understand this).

We as photographers are hurt on so many levels by this and that opting-in is just like digging your own grave.

They not only offer 0.25 per image, but also are introducing the lowest photographer commission across the industry. You'll get 0.25 even if they sell a single image or a bundle of images, like Shutterstock's On Demand for example and that's far from 20 % commission.

Also by inviting Istock customers to their new founded site, it only shows that the owners do not give a * for anything except their own profits. Many people at Istock signed up for exclusivity only to realize that their own company is sending the customers elsewhere, another site where prices are much lower. Not good.

And the last thing we need is a new subscription site. Offering 0.25 per image in 2010 is just a joke. Hope they realize that.

This guy is selling his web-site business on ebay along with my picture (the bike image). I guess this is against the rules right ? Not that I'm going to do anything about it, just wanted to know.

General Stock Discussion / Length of video sold on stock sites

Have a quick question. Does anyone know what length the videos sold on stock sites should be ? Are there any limits ? Any preferred size or format ? Adobe Stock / Has Fotolia decreased photographer's commission ?

I have been receiving 0.39 $ for an XS size for a long time when suddenly I sell an extended license and receive only 36 $ instead of the usual 39 (all my Extended license images are set at 100 $) After looking back a couple of pages I noticed that I was actually getting less than I used to since the beginning of March.

And No I'm not talking about subscription sales, they remain at 0.33, I'm referring to XS size and above where my cut used to be 39% and now it seems to have declined to 36 %

Has anything happened that I'm not aware of ? Was there a notification or something ?

I've just had a sale but my balance stayed the same. Underneath the image sold, it says "Not downloaded yet. The pending status will be changed if refund is not requested in 3 months"

Hi,

I sold a pic to a French magazine and now they ask me to send a billing form with my bank details so they can transfer me the money. They seem to be reputable French magazine and I feel safe enough to send them all the bank details but I was wondering if there's a template of the billing form or something similar as this is the first time someone asked me to provide a billing form. Thanks in advance.

General Stock Discussion / Exclusive buy out advice needed

Hi,

I've been asked to state the price for exclusive buy out for one of my images at LO and I know what exclusive buy out really means but don't know how much to ask for it.

What are your suggestions, how much should I ask ? Has anyone ever sold an image like this ? What was the price ?
