Shutterstock.com / Reactivated Images Missing?
« on: November 09, 2020, 18:44 »
I recently reactivated my images for sale on Shutterstock as it was my plan to start to delete them between now and January 1st when I'll be closing the account (I don't really trust them to delete them all if I just request account closure).

I had a portfolio of over 800 images and now I have 474. It's been stuck at 474 for almost a month. I've written to ask them where the remaining images are and I haven't gotten a clear answer. They did say it was a known bug and they were working on it but it's been some time now.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Shutterstock.com / Shutterstock's Watermarking Insufficient?
« on: February 21, 2020, 22:53 »
I'm afraid that the preview images on Shutterstock are way too large and the watermarking is just too small and light. This might be okay for photographs but I sell mostly vectors and I can see how someone could easily take a screenshot of my work and edit out the watermarking or just run a live trace on the preview jpeg in Illustrator.

Anyone else think they need to be doing more to protect our work?

Adobe Stock / Am I Missing Something on the Dashboard?
« on: February 04, 2020, 16:52 »
Why isn't there a place that shows a list of what files have most recently been purchased? Or is it there and buried somewhere where I can't find it?

Alamy requires that you upload your vector eps files through an ftp client. Typically if I upload a batch they are available for keywording the next day. I've uploaded the same batch now three times over the course of a week and they haven't shown up on the site yet.

Anyone else having this issue?

Adobe Stock / Adobe's Categories
« on: March 23, 2019, 12:56 »
I've been pretty satisfied with the upload process after switching over from Fotolia to Adobe, but I find their categories kind of lacking.

Fotolia may have had a bit too many, although I found their drop-down menus pretty easy to navigate when picking a category.

I think a happy medium would be somewhere in the middle but, right now, I feel like Adobe is missing some pretty key ones.

Any thoughts?

General Stock Discussion / Question for Vector Sellers Only:
« on: June 24, 2018, 13:00 »
I've got vector portfolios on the two biggest sites, Shutterstock and Fotolia. I've also got them on Canstock, where they're not performing very well.

Just wanted to hear from other vector contributors if there's a particular mid-level stock site out there where their vectors are performing especially well for them.

ps-excluding DepositPhotos, which I left because I found them to be shady.

Thanks!

Shutterstock.com / Trouble Uploading Vectors
« on: May 28, 2018, 22:14 »
All of a sudden, there's a problem with the web form uploading vectors. When I upload the .eps and .jpg it doesn't recognize one of them and I get an error message. When I attempt to re-upload, I get the message that they are currently processing an image by that name and I should rename the file if I want to upload it.  But the image never shows up. It's just stuck in limbo somewhere, preventing me from trying again without renaming the file.

I'm not renaming all of my images just to try again. I upload to multiple sites. It would be a pain.

This is new in the last week or two. Anyone know what's going on?

CanStockPhoto.com / Preview Image Colors WAY Off
« on: May 17, 2017, 13:07 »
Anyone else having trouble with the preview images for their most recently accepted images? I'm a vector contributor at CanStock and the most recent batch of my images have preview colors that look fluorescent. This never happened with my older images there.

Also, review/approval time there is really slow lately. It's taking over a month for images to be reviewed.

I always ignore the option to create folders of my stuff on Fotolia, but I am just wondering if there's some sort of benefit to having your images categorized that way.

Does anyone know if it affects the way customers view those images? Do they get some sort of notification that the image is part of a series when they view it?

Thanks!

General - Top Sites / Top 4 Sites for Vector Contributors?
« on: November 06, 2015, 15:01 »
I'm on iStock, Shutterstock and Fotolia. I don't want to branch out too much further but was wondering where other vector only contributors have the best success. Would like to maybe upload to 1 or 2 more sites.

Thanks!

Envato / Graphic River Suddenly Rejecting Everything
« on: May 16, 2015, 11:27 »
I've had a pretty good acceptance rate at Graphic River in the past, though they've always been a bit more picky than other sites. However, the last 7-8 images I've uploaded have been rejected for "not meeting their standards". The rejected images are pretty much to the same standard as everything else they've accepted in the past, which is puzzling.

Anyone else having this problem? Here's my portfolio there: http://graphicriver.net/user/pvg

In the past it was necessary to upload an entire separate jpeg file of a vector image to Shutterstock after the vector was accepted. Now I've noticed that my newer uploads are including the jpeg automatically. However, the jpeg is only a high-res version and is not offered in multiple sizes. The older jpegs I had uploaded separately are offered in small, medium and large sizes.

I was just wondering how other contributors are handling jpegs of their vector files on SS?

Does anyone have a complete list of the partner sites where DepositPhotos is selling our images? I'd like to compose a email asking to delete my portfolio and would like to name specific sites in the letter that I also want the images removed from.

Thanks!

I have pretty healthy sales on Shutterstock overall, but I have one file that I sell the bejeezus out of. I usually sell it on a daily basis, sometimes 2 or 3 times daily. It's this one:

Not that I'm complaining, I'm just wondering what might have shot this file to the top of the charts. Does anyone else have one file in their portfolio that does significantly better than all of their others?
