General Stock Discussion / Searching for a keywording tool ?
« on: November 21, 2020, 19:23 »
I basically need a simple tool with option to create something like my own keywords tree and add keywords by checking them.

Pretty much same process like in Adobe Bridge. The problem with bridge is that it is dividing keywords by semicolon instead of comma and adding an unnecessary step in my workflow.

So one more time, nothing fancy, nothing best, I don't need keyword suggestions etc. Just an option to create my small keyword library and add keywords by checking them.

Does anyone know some tool like that, preferably free?

Thanks

Shutterstock.com / Buying tips for Contributor on SS
« on: May 19, 2015, 17:37 »

Im thinking of purchasing a single month sub plan but I cannot find any info on few things so I thought to ask here...

Do I  have to create another account as buyer because their system seams to lead me that way or its somehow possible to use contributors account ...?

Is there an option to convert them or somehow pay with my unpayed monthly earnings , and if its not possible do they by any chance accept skrill as payment option ?

Thanks

General Stock Discussion / Searching for a site
« on: January 07, 2015, 17:27 »
I was browsing trough forums but lost a lot of time today so maybe I better ask...so

A site that would be something like this:

-Not huge previews , decently watermarked

-Decent Upload Process

-Possibility to create few galleries

-Custom Price Setting  and no subs

-Approval: Not some "we have enough of those" or "select only best in series"  rejections

I was searching trough forums and Macrografiks was closest to what I had in mind but unfortunately as they have come to the end as I can see.

Highest payout rate is main priority and the site traffic is not so important

Any comments are more than welcomed and thanks in advance :D

Dreamstime.com / 0,09 per credit ?
« on: February 05, 2014, 15:26 »

I haven't really checked commissions and stuff lately on any site ( avoiding headaches ) but today I noticed a sale that got me thinking...

1,86$ earned on  20 credits sale ?

So that would be 0,09 per credit ?

Then on the other hand I had credit sales bringing much more %, so on what does that depend and why so much of a difference ?

Shutterstock.com / Keywords editin tool at SS ?
« on: November 16, 2011, 09:23 »
I saw that some of accepted images picked info from totally different images from same batch and they were reviewed like that. Those SS bugs are really getting huge pain in the ass

I remember there was some mozilla tool  to edit info after submission but i cannot find it on forum...

Can somebody please point me to that ....

Software - General / Copy - Paste IPTC software?
« on: November 12, 2011, 23:39 »

Is somebody using or know of any software that can copy-paste title, description and keywords from an image to another or even to multiple images ?

I mean without creating templates, just simply copy-paste everything ?

The only one I know of is cushystock , but i find it unstable sometimes and it tends to do copies of images and even renaming ones with capital letters.

It can be annoying especially when u deal with vectors and it renames your jpg file differently.

Thanks

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had situation like this and if its normal.

I haven't requested payout on istockphoto for quite time and today i recived e-mail in Russian from [email protected], I dont understand nothing.

My account is on 0$ and i see i have a pending payout on all my previous earnings , but im wondering is it pending to go on my account or...because this is at least strange for me.

What should I do and can I do something to see if it will processed to my moneybookers account as usual ?

I repeat , i haven't requested that payout

Thanks

Adobe Stock / Ranking on Fotolia ?
« on: April 11, 2011, 05:56 »
Following their movies and didn't even check for long time but few days ago I did and im confused ...

Im still silver , and on stats page my sold files are 500+ sales over 10 000 , so Im wondering , shouldn't I be gold or there is some subs trick or what ?

Under "sold files"  are subs already calculated as 1/4 of the sale ?

Illustration - General / Saving eps10 files problem
« on: October 22, 2010, 16:41 »
Ok , yesterday i worked half day on 2 illustrations, and I wanted to use transparency. I saved my work as eps10 files.

Today when i open them again , all layers were lost (everything was in 1 layer)  , all elements were full ungrouped , and background which was an radial gradient lost
distance between colors and only showed white. In bridge my thumb looks normal.

I used only transparency and blend modes (multiply i think) , and using illustrator CS4 , i saved files as eps10

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

iStockPhoto.com / istockphoto watercolors rejections
« on: March 26, 2010, 17:44 »
Well recently they started rejecting all of my watercolors so I'm looking for some help for description.

They used to take my abstract watercolor backgrounds ( most often one or two colors simple watercolors) , and now they are rejectin them for this reason:

We regret to inform you that we cannot accept your submission, entitled Abstract watercolor ( http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/12393072/2/istockphoto_12393072-abstract-watercolor.jpg) for addition to the iStockphoto library for the following reasons:

Please provide a focused description for the work of art featured in this image. Aim to describe the artwork as well as possible (the artist, date of creation, location, etc). Works of art created by someone other than yourself must be free of copyright protection to be considered royalty-free.

In your description, please include any valuable information regarding the artist/ownership of the original artwork that will assist us in determining that the work of art is not subject to copyright protection. Make sure that your description is clear, helpful and targeted to the client who may be interested in your image (and not to the inspector).

If this work of art is indeed under copyright protection, a property release signed by the copyright holder will need to be provided. Thank you.

Now my description goes like this:  "Abstract watercolor painting hand painted by me , nice background for your projects".

What am I doing wrong i stated i painted this so whats the problem , I don't get it , especially when I know they took other paintings with same description.

Any ideas ?

Crestock.com / I think Crestock is refusing to pay me
« on: March 06, 2009, 09:16 »
I don know maybe am just over frustrated but I think they do anything in their power not to pay me out , I'm interested about what you think about the situation

I know the have some moneybookers problems so I waited to reach 300$ and requested my money, I was thinking that It will be easier to them this way.
Somewhere in mid November I requested payout , no one responded to my e-mail for a while.

On 24. Nov I started a topic on their forum cause my e-mails were useless , and they told me I will be paid soon in a week or two.

They were making payouts , but as I was explained in a e-mail to people who had small payments (I was at 350$ at that time) , and asked me if its OK with me to receive a direct bank payment.
I didn't saw that e-mail at first (my fault) , but then again they told me to forget about that , after I asked them If they still need my bank account info for payment.  They told me they should be able to pay me via moneybookers in a week or two.

Again nothing , so I wrote them another mail , and they didn't reply.

Then they wrote again  In the forum that I will be paid in a week or two.

That circle has been closed few times but I wasn't paid , no one wanted my bank info to pay me out.

Again I found a forum post that we will be paid at the end or last week or this Monday or Tuesday   , a you can guess what happened.

I wrote a forum post , but It seems they don't care cause nobody explained what happened this time, and people have mailed me about that so I know Im not the only one with this problem.
Even people with paypal were waiting for few months , as you can see in their forum.

So they don't reply to mails , they have stopped writing about it in their forum , and I'm waiting for my payment since mid November ( so almost 4 months) , I have more than 500$ that I need in their account and they are apparently paying small amounts to be able to pay to more people.

As they wrote me I know they can pay me with direct bank transfer , but when I offered them my bank info info  they stopped communicating with me.

I tried with a PM to Josh here , with no no luck , I don't know if he got it but I didn't receive a answer.

So they are holding 500$ that I fairly earned , and the best they can offer Is a week or two payment promise and they always brake it.

I was trying to hold my horses and not to start a topic about that outside their forums for a while  , but since they apparently don't care about that I was pushed over the edge.

I think its the basic thing about this business , to pay the contributors but some of us are not lucky enough.

Here is the original forum topic I started there so you can see I'm telling the truth : http://www.crestock.com/forum/general-help/Getting-payed--4921.aspx

Any suggestions ?

Cameras / Lenses / Dust on prism or miror question ?
« on: December 11, 2008, 12:41 »
Ok , I had my first not so successful sensor cleanining today.

Anyway I haven't menage  to get rid of sensor dust , at least not all of it , I had three swabs attempts today  , and first time I had more than one attempt.

When I looked trough viewfinder I almost got heart attack  ;D , there were hundreds of dark f.....s looking at me from inside.
I made few shoots , and they don't show on photos so I guess they are sitting on the mirror and prism combined , I have few spots on the sensor but I cant get rid of those too this time.

No way I can  blow them away , they are stacked for good and all I managed is to move around just few of them.

Time to visit Canon again , I know how much they will ask for the sensor , but I'm wondering , what about prism and mirror ?
I guess I could live with few spots that dont show on photos , but there is an army standing between me and the object.

Does someone have similar experiences with mirror or prism , and If so , I would appreciate an advice or information.

Thanks

Dreamstime.com / Upload limit question
« on: September 24, 2008, 14:42 »
Before I experiment , may I ask , is it about the number of images that we can process and send for review , or about number of images that we can upload by ftp ?

In other words can I upload 150 images by ftp in a single batch ,and than process 50 every day ?

Thanks

Adobe Stock / Breaking the rule
« on: May 25, 2008, 20:33 »
Well I'm just to break my own rule not to complain about rejections , I never said a word against a reviewer  , ever , but I got rejector on steroids this time.  ;D

I haven't submitted to fotolia for some time , so I had a quite large batch submitted few days ago , and this evening I was doing categories all evening , and the rejector did them more then 95% in few minutes and im  talking about hundreds of them .

Considering the fact that I had approval rate probably high about 90% , with less quality images before , something must have changed drastically there , or I just wasn't lucky enough and got a reviewer that was pissed off for some reason today. I'm talking about images approved at all other sites , images that were in SS top 50  , few of my bestsellers that have gone over 100$ at other sites etc  all rejected in matter of minutes for various reasons.

So should I contact someone (and Is there a way to request another review) or  should I just let it go ?

iStockPhoto.com / Istock illustrator test advice needed
« on: April 15, 2008, 16:43 »
I'm one image short to be approved there but the last 2 vector  illustrations I sent them were rejected , so if I fail this time I will probably wait for months.
Apparently they don't want background etc , so I made an underwater illustration and Im not sure I should try and submit it or not.

I would appreciate any thoughts or advices cause I'm into vectors just for few months now.

If someone with  more experience with  illustrations has a minute and would like to do me a favor and check the vector file more closely I would be great , just PM me.

Thanks

Well Here is the image:

Featurepics.com / Wow
« on: March 24, 2008, 08:15 »
I don't know why , but I didn't get any sales reports on my e-mail for some time , so I just logged on FP after long time just to see if I had any sales there.

I just couldn't believe my eyes , I had  several Royalty Free Small Business Extension sales all over 80$ generating me minimal 56$ each , and "small sales" have become regular on daily basis so for me FP will probably beat most sites from big 5 this month.

Just hope the trend will continue cause I always liked that site.

I just wanted to share the info....

StockXpert.com / Property release for boats ?
« on: January 20, 2008, 20:04 »

Well , I just got few rejections for boats , one rejection for a small wooden boat , one for sail boat at open sea.

Do we need a property release for boats on open sea from now on ?

Well I found hundreds of them in the search engine  , I saw cruisers , tankers , etc , and I doubt that all of them have property release , at least I'm sure for all of mine that were previously approved without any.
