Shutterstock.com / IRS Scam?
« on: September 08, 2016, 12:45 »
I recieved an email, supposedly from Shutterstock, stating that my W-9 is incorrect. None of my information has changed since 2013 so I'm wondering, is anyone else getting this email? Is it real or a hoax?

I did try to contact SS directly but they don't have a phone number only a web form to fill in and I have no idea how long it will take to get a response.

General Stock Discussion / Several videos using stolen stock work.
« on: February 02, 2013, 16:17 »
This guy has several videos on his YouTube channel which are made with Dreamstime, Cutcaster, Istockphoto and Shutterstock logos still on the images. YouTube won't allow me to report him because they are not my images. Please check to see if your images are there as the channel is about mental health.

Dreamstime.com / Random removal of Images heads up
« on: May 25, 2012, 13:40 »
I received an email about 2 images were where being removed from the site. I went back to check on similar images that were approved and discovered that 5 images in total have been removed. These images were approved in 2008 and sell regularly. A phone call to DT did not give me any answers as to why my images were being taken down but not the 4 other nearly identical images created by other people.

Dreamstime.com / Dreamstime down?
« on: May 24, 2012, 07:35 »
For the last 2 days I get a "server is busy" error when I try to access DT. Anyone else having issues or is it just me?

I was with Zoonar until last fall when they introduced a new partner and I became frustrated with not knowing how to opt out of the new partner. I've never had a sale there and canceled my account. Yesterday they sent me $2.45. I tried to log in to find out why, 6 months after my account was closed I was being paid but because my account is closed I can't find any information.

Anyone else close their account and then get paid with no sales?

Cutcaster / JPegs as Vectors?
« on: October 03, 2011, 13:06 »
I don't sell much on CC so I don't check my stats there often. I recently noticed that one of my images was sold in size "Vector". I don't submit vectors - only JPEGs so I'm not sure what to make of this.

According to an email sent out today Getty will be posting all Photolibrary, a partner of Zoonar, images on thinkstock, Jupiter and Photos.com. Anyone know how to unaccept the partner agreement?

Adobe Stock / Partner deal with Xycod
« on: August 17, 2011, 10:43 »
From their tumblr page.

Fotolias premium collection of free and affordable royalty-free images are now directly available from within Xycods Postworkshop 2.1.

PostworkShop is a comprehensive toolkit for digital image enhancement and artistic reinterpretation that provides a creative platform for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

With the integration of Fotolias online image search, users will have access to Fotolias vast library of over 14 million stock photos, illustrations and vectors directly from the application itself. Trial image enhancement and manipulation, image purchase, download, and indexing all take part in this streamlined process to seamlessly incorporate high quality stock into design flow.

We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Xycod, noted Garth Johnson, Executive Vice President at Fotolia North America. By integrating images and processing in a more symbiotic, innovative way, Xycod and Fotolia are able provide a great platform of benefit to both Fotolias photographer contributors, and the graphics design realm as a whole, he remarked.

PostworkShop 2.1 is now available for download at http://postworkshop.net/

//

The xycod site has a video showing how to use the FT integration. I wonder if this is part of the reason for the commission and pricing changes. There is also no word on what the licensing terms are (ie can I use your photo to make "art" in this program and then license the image via a gallery site?)

Cutcaster / How to delete images?

I have a few older images that I want to remove from CC but can't figure out how. Anyone know?

Veer / How to close account?
« on: March 16, 2011, 07:17 »
I've had no sales and over half of my submissions have been rejected so I'm trying to close my account but can't find a way to do it. The email link in the footer requires you to use Outlook, which I don't want to install. Anyone know how to close your account, or at least delete the uploaded images?

From the newsletter:

music and sound effects. Previously, Fotolia partnered with AudioMicro on Flixtime.com, where users create dynamic, music-filled videos from standard images and video clips.

Adobe Stock / FT contributor site seems to be down
« on: February 21, 2011, 15:59 »
I uploaded several images via the Flash uploader. I can see the images in My Files. However, I can not edit them. Clicking "Add" to move the keywords just erases all the listed keywords - but does not transfer them to the other box. Clicking on "Display all Categories" takes you to the top of the page but doesn't open an windows or give you any way to see categories.

I ran into this the last time I tried to upload as well and just decided to delete all the images rather than fight with the site. That was a few months ago. I was hoping that by now they would have gotten it fixed.

From Achilles

As you all know, Dreamstime sells content using a large distribution network, additional to our own site.  From time to time, we audit our distribution partners to ensure that everything is going as it should.

Earlier last week, we have decided to remove the access to one of our distributors for a serious infringement of the terms of our contract with that distributor.  More specifically, we discovered that the distributor has been selling some images at a higher price point than agreed with Dreamstime, with the extra amount not being reported by the distributor.  The added amount per image varied from a few percentage points up to several times the acceptable price.  Furthermore, some of the files were duplicated and used, via a caching system, to allow future downloads from new and previous customers, without any payments sent to Dreamstime or its photographers.  Dreamstime considers this to be a serious violation of its contributors rights one which we intend to see remedied by any and all available means.

We have consequently removed their access to all Dreamstime images, and were currently preparing a legal action towards this company.  I will not name the company here, due to the nature of the legal process.  Once this process ends, and we recover any royalties due, we will add any additional missing royalties due.

We are making this post to publicly advise our distributors and contributors that we will not tolerate any kind of infringements.  Similarly, we will not quietly end an infringement, endorsing suspected instances of fraud this way.  Strong ethics must prevail and should be the very first thing one analyzes before joining a partnership, no matter its type.

We will keep you posted.

Adobe Stock / Issue with IPTC data
« on: December 31, 2010, 09:08 »
The issue is that my keywords are listed (IPTC) in the box but when I click "Add", nothing happens. Is this an issue only for me or are others having the same problem? Even if I delete all the keywords and then paste/type them in the "Add" button still does not function.

I noticed that even after opting out 3 times from the PP that the system continued to mark me as in the program. I posted in their forums and was told it was a glitch. However, looking at thinkstock's website I came across this...

http://www.thinkstockphotos.com/search/#boy%20superhero%20blond/f=PIHV

The isolated boy with the blue cape are all my images. Really not happy about there decision to put all images on thinkstock regardless of our opting out.

New Sites - General / How to change RM to RF on Zoonar
« on: October 03, 2010, 19:30 »
I uploaded mostly micro images to Zoonar, but once they were approved they were pre-set for RM. I didn't make this choice - it was never an option. I've gone through and edited them to RF but now they read as RM/RF. How do I take them out of RM?

Dreamstime.com / DT not accepting MRs?
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:18 »
I've tried 3 times to upload MRs from a recent shoot. All there times the system acts like there was no problem but then won't show the MRs on my releases page. I've emailed support but only received the canned "We got your email" response. Anyone else having this issue?

« on: June 24, 2010, 10:40 »
I've been trying to sort this out but can't seem to. How do I see which images have sold on 123? I know how to find the stats about how much I make - I want to know which images are selling.

Minimum commission request amount being raised to $50 next week

Contributors:
We are raising the minimum commission payout to $50 next week. We have held ours at $30 for a long time but the industry standard is much higher and due to the high volume of $30 requests, we need to raise it to $50.

Thank you for understanding, we sincerely hope that this doesn't affect anyone appreciably.
