I decided to start to submit photos to Alamy after many years submitting to all the top microstocks agencies on the right.
First batch rejected for "No camera metadata".
On investigation I have worked out that I had a selection in light room to include all metadata except camera info. Great !
I can re-export out of lightroom to get the camera data included but I've made modifications to some in photoshop.
A couple of questions
1) Can I manually/copy the camera metadata back in somehow ?
2) Does Alamy always check the camera data or is it just for the initial submission.
My camera is 5d Mk2 so no issues with it not being "good enough"

How come nobody is talking about the new 5d ? normally everybody is drooling to get new camera to solve their issue of falling sales. Looks good to me though very expensive, obviously overkill for microstock.
What's on your wish list ?
Mine is New 5d , Water housing or Drone.

I try submitting with stock uploader and it fails. I try using the web based uploaded and it says doesn't support file type jpg  Anybody having same problem ? I even try with files that I have previously uploaded there and get the non supported file type. Same files upload to other sites no problem.

I was thinking of taking a lot time lapse sequences (for fun and learning not necessarily stock at the moment) and want to know what people think about camera wear. Is it something to be concerned about or not.
I have a 5d MkII as my main camera and a 300D (Rebel) sitting in the draw gathering dust. The 5dMk 2 seems to be overkill if I'm going to resize down to HD video resolution. Seemed like it might be a good use of the 300D to eventually send it to its grave.
From the web it quotes 40,000 shutter life for the 300D and 150,000 for the 5dMkII. How much is it to repair a "worn out" shutter ?

The 5D MkIII has been out for a couple of months. Surely this camera needs to be upgraded.
Thought I'd get in first to demand that canon release the MkIV.
Oh by the way I have from a reliable source that it will have 36.01MP and 63.2 AF points and of course eye controlled focus.
On a serious note, anybody bought the Mk3 ? What's your thoughts ?

I do a lot of travel and I am looking at getting either a macbook air 11 inch or the ASUS 11inch Zenbook. I like the compact and light weight with some reasonable processing specs.
Any comments, suggestions or random abuse ?

A quick question about video.
I have a 5dMkII and have never really used it for video.
One of the few videos I have taken has sensor spots, (I know I should clean my sensor)
Is there a way to "clone out" sensor spots like you would in a photo ?

Just got a message from Dreamstime about one of my images saying it hadn't been sold in 4 years. Options are send it to the free section, rekeyword for 60c or disable.
Is this something new or has it been around for ages ?
Its a fair move to keep the size of the collection managable and I'd prefer this scheme than making it impossible to get new stuff accepted.

Do shutterstock inspectors ever look at keywords ?
They are so picky about caption for editorial but keywords it appears anything goes.
Has anybody ever had a rejection for keywords at shutterstock.

I was just looking at my sales at Dreamstime and all the recent sales either quote x credits (2008) or subscription. Why would I not have any 2009 credit sales ? Does anybody have (2009) credit sales on Dreamstime ?

My laptop looks like its died.
I'm after something with a large screen and fastish speed. More of a desktop replacement type of computer. budget is <$1800 US. Processing photos from 5d Mkii and would like to get more into using the video on the 5dMkII as well.
Any suggestions.

Hi, luckily enough I'm going on a 9 week holiday soon.
About 10 days Japan Tokyo,Takayama,Osaka
Balance will be in Spain and Portugal - big cities + 3 weeks campervan between Madrid and Lisbon.
Appreciate any comments on "must shoots" in these areas.
