Dreamstime.com / Deleting Unsold images
« on: December 21, 2021, 08:35 »
Hi guys,
I am sure the answer is inside somewhere but couldn't find it. Or let's say, there is not longer a bin on the lower right corner to delete the images (like described below).
Can someone tell how to delete unsold images?
DT doesn't give you that choice and my guess is that it's not possible, but who knows...
Thank you!

Bonjour,

Shutterstock.com / 4K footage preview with horizontal black bars
« on: November 17, 2016, 02:22 »
Hello,
I'm kind of puzzled by this. I uploaded some 4K footages and when looking at the preview, they come with horizontal black bars. The thumbnail looks fine but not the preview.
Here the screenshot of the "preview" and the export settings:
Thank you for your feedback!π

iStockPhoto.com / Video question
« on: March 01, 2016, 01:55 »
I didn't upload video for a couple of years now and I see the system changed. I understand I need to use the ESP through espaws website. I got that.
Now (and this I can't find online), do they still require you to send the HD, NTSC and PAL versions along with a thumbnail?
It's not clear as the latest videos uploaded on their site have different sizes that seem to be generated automatically.
So, do they still need the 3 formats or just one HD?
Thank you for your feedback!

iStockPhoto.com / Unable to upload
« on: May 28, 2014, 08:43 »
I am the only one here? I uploaded a bunch of images that need to be resubmitted for missing a detail >:(.
Now I am unable to either resubmit them or even can barely redo a fresh upload, I keep getting a BLANK page. Very annoying >:( >:(.
I work with Safari on a Mac, and tried with Chrome and same story. Anybody experienced the same and found a solution? I know it comes from their programming, but we never know. Thank you!

123RF / Is 123rf still auto payout at $50?
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:53 »
Kinda puzzled on that one. I pass $50 a while back and no payment. So I was wondering if we need to request it, and if we do I don't see where. Mmmm... Thanks!

General - Top Sites / Moving from USA to France
« on: January 24, 2014, 16:05 »
Did anybody experienced the move and what it implies in term of stock photography? If I understand, only FT will pay in , for the rest I will have to swallow the bad exchange rate (and it's pretty bad). So, I'd like to get some feedback of someone who went through that experience if possible and any advice is welcome. Thanks so much in advance!

Bigstock.com / Can't find my FTP upload
« on: January 08, 2014, 10:11 »
I have uploaded 100+ images through FTP since yesterday and they don't show up on their site. I haven't upload there for a couple of years now and wonder if there is something new I need to know. Looked everywhere on site though, but can't see my new uploaded images. Any hint? Thanks!

Someone knows if SS accepts .mp4 format?
Thanks.

iStockPhoto.com / Video 30" duration question
« on: December 17, 2013, 11:37 »
I am trying to work on my video application sample, they request the videos not to be more than 30 seconds. OK, my duration is exactly 00:00:30:00 and has been refused (error message says "video's duration must be between 5 and 30 seconds"), then I reduced it to 00:00:29:23 and I still get the same message!
Anybody knows what is the "real" duration the video will be accepted?
Thanks!

General - Top Sites / Video question
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:31 »
I'd like to propose some video clips and I have a few questions:
- do we need to blur logos? Pretty sure we do, but are they very picky on logos for videos?
- any good stock videos advice site someone would recommend?
Any video advices would be appreciated anyway.
Thanks a lot!

iStockPhoto.com / Pending file edit - Question
« on: December 02, 2013, 14:36 »
Does anyone know if it's possible to edit an image while it's on the pending line (not the keywords but the actual image)? I need to remove a logo (that I didn't see) and don't want to loose all these waiting days. Thanks!

iStockPhoto.com / Upload problem
« on: November 27, 2013, 12:55 »
I am experiencing a freeze on choosing the category, I can't do anything, can't go anywhere (only category part, not keywords)...
Anybody has a fix for this?
Thanks in advance!

14
I look everywhere and no way I can find the way to add the newly accepted images in the catalog manager. Maybe I have to wait or something, but I can only create a "new catalog", not adding images to the ones already existing... I am getting nuts!

Alamy.com / How do you know you sold something in Alamy?
« on: May 01, 2013, 07:19 »
Just new at Alamy and got my files accepted and not sure I understand how the site works. I understand I won't get a lot of sales on this site, but where to you see the sale?

Adobe Stock / My images always refused by fotolia
« on: May 01, 2013, 06:35 »
I am very puzzled why fotolia refuses my images systematically. They are accepted between 50% to 80% at other sites and they are selling. My best selling images have been refused at fotolia and I feel they put a red flag on me for some odd reason. Does anybody else experience the same problem?

I sent them an email for clarification and here is the answer (just a generic answer - probably a cut and paste sentence): "Thank you for your e-mail. Please note that all of your files have been reviewed by our selection team. Also note that the selection team is a separate department, so we have no influence on their decision. The main criteria for validation or rejection are: the quality of the image/video, the technical requirements, the similarity to existing Fotolia photographs and the image's/video's sale potential. We know that it can be difficult to have an image or video rejected but please bear with us. You would be able to view your deleted files by going to: "My Files > Manage My Files > Show Deleted Files (green button located on the right side)". We encourage you to continue uploading your images and videos."

I have attached some samples of refused files:

Dreamstime.com / Convert earning into credits
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:57 »
Can't remember now. I would like to get paid but the blurb is pretty grey in my mind (and I don't know if they changed it or if I don't remember). They say "how many credits you want to buy". Does that make them send the money to PayPal or they make me buy "credits" available to purchase images.
They have a very weird way to put it, I think.
Thanks!

Adobe Stock / What is the Hostname for FTP for FT?
« on: July 05, 2012, 16:09 »
They make it unclear and whatever I find on their site doesn't work. I need the correct "hostname" if someone can give me that.
Thank you!

123RF / Where to find pending images?
« on: July 05, 2012, 15:46 »
Didn't use this site for a long time and just uploaded some new images via ftp. Where do we see the pending images? I have no clue...
Thank you.

Adobe Stock / 1099 tax form while no income for 2011?
« on: February 07, 2012, 15:38 »
I have not been paid by fotolia in 2011 and they sent me this 1099 form for 2011. I wrote to them and response received yesterday disappeared from my inbox for an odd reason, but basically they said that the 1099 form is related to the images sold, not to the payment received. It doesn't make sense to me, I have never received a 1099 on money I haven't receive on the tax year.
Do you experience the same problem? (considering you haven't receive any payment from them in 2011)
Thanks!

Adobe Stock / Fotolia credit earned
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:36 »
Can someone tell me an easy way to see the earnings in fotolia? I am getting very frustrated here as #1: I thought they made automatic payment (they did before but don't anymore apparently -- without warning too) and #2: I can't see and easy way to check the earnings since the last payment (an easy way, not the painful one)... Anybody knows?
Thank you!

iStockPhoto.com / Changed my mind on becoming IS exclusive...
« on: August 30, 2010, 12:45 »
I stopped uploading for 6 months at DT to be able to apply for IS exclusivity, but the sales are so low at IS these last 2 months that I was scared of the jump and decided that I wasn't going to do it.

Maybe because it's Summer, maybe Thinkstock deal (I retrieved myself), maybe new design change favoring exclusivity or whatever but I wonder if some of you were going to become exclusive also and decided not to do it after all?

iStockPhoto.com / Puzzled with commission
« on: April 01, 2010, 12:02 »
I am on Bronze level and non-exclusive. If I look at the chart here http://www.istockphoto.com/rate_schedule.php
no commission is under $0.30 at my level and I just sold 5 images at $0.20 each: extra small, pay as you go, regular. The same image has been sold before with commission of $0.23, $0.25, $0.29 under the same "extra small, pay as you go, regular".

I am very puzzled here as to why the commission doesn't reflect what the chart says and why the price vary under same purchase conditions... ??? Am I missing something?

24
Just to make it simple. Apparently I am able to keep everything that is not RF images on the other agencies. Does anyone has experience this?

Anyway, the guys who became exclusive with IS in the last months, do you really see a worthwhile difference? Do you recommend the jump ???

Thank you.

Shutterstock.com / This month I reached 1000 downloads
« on: October 26, 2009, 09:00 »
Lots of download but little money for it.... Ho well...
I am new to SS since March this year...
Compare to your experience is this good or just medium (I will not input the bad)...   :)
