I need your advice!

Between 2007 and about 2015, I uploaded around 2000 photos to most of the well-known Microstock photography sites.  I have not uploaded any photos since then.  To add the description and keywords to my photos, I used Prostockmaster, and I always found it to work well, without any problems.

Today, I processed some photos to upload to these sites, however, when I went to find Prostockmaster on my computer, it was not longer installed.  I Googled Prostockmaster, and installed it on my computer.  Unfortunately, I cannot get the program to work.  Every time it opens, it comes up with this message "invalid user credentials" and when I click 'OK', the program closes.

I did a search to find out how to fix this problem, and I followed each of the steps, as instructed.  However, I still cannot get the message to disappear.

Can anyone give me some advice about this situation?  I really want to add the keywords and description to my photos, so I can upload them to the Microstock sites, where I sell my photos.

iStockPhoto.com / Have They Got it Wrong Again?
« on: March 21, 2014, 13:51 »
My iStock account just increased by $71.58.

After spending some time trying to work out how I achieved such a large jump since I last checked my balance five hours ago, I discovered that this amount was achieved by one sale that occurred on the 14th of February via the PP.  I found the image, and it only has only ever achieved a total of 12 PP sales and 2 iStock downloads.  It is showing that from these few sales, it has earned a total of $75.37.  I did not have any iStock downloads sales today....only this PP sale, which, as I stated before, dates back to the 14th of February.  When I viewed my PP sales for the month of February, it is showing a very tall green bar, towering way above the sales achieved on all the other days in the month.

Is a sale of this size possible through the PP, or does it sound like there's a problem in their system, again?

iStockPhoto.com / Missing Partner Programm Sales Stats
« on: July 09, 2013, 17:50 »
Have others received a record of their Partner Program sales for the months of May and June on their stats page?

As yet, I have not received notification of any Partner Program sales since the 31st of April.

123RF / What is going On?
« on: July 06, 2012, 18:42 »
After receiving a payout in April (for sales in February and March), I achieved sales totalling over $100.00 during April, May and June.  I commenced July with a balance of $103.70 and then suddenly, my account balance went back to -$14.48.....a minus figure!!!

I contacted support about this yesterday, and was informed that there was a problem with the server, and I was told that my correct balance would be restored within 4 to 5 days.

Are other contributors experiencing this problem?

New Sites - General / My Image on the Front Page of Zoonar
« on: June 25, 2012, 22:10 »
I just noticed that one of my images is featured in the slide-show on the front page of Zoonar.  I just wish it was getting me sales!  With nearly 1300 images on the site, I have not had a sale since around last October.  Very disappointing after a promising start!

Yaymicro / Are You Getting Paid?
« on: May 30, 2012, 16:18 »
On the 25th of April, I requested a payment from Yaymicro.  I've heard nothing since.  Two days ago, I sent them an e-mail, to ask them when I could expect to receive this payment.  So far, no reply.

Is anyone getting paid?  Do they normally take 35 days to process a payment?

123RF / This Could Not Be Right....Could It?
« on: March 21, 2012, 07:27 »
I was checking my daily sales for today on 123RF, and I nearly fell off my chair.

My sales for the day show that I've had 4 sales all on the same image......one 'S' sale and 3 'PEL' sales.  The total of the 4 sales is $367.675

This just has to be an accounting error, doesn't it?

Alamy.com / My First Alamy Sale!
« on: February 28, 2012, 22:57 »
I joined Alamy about three or four years ago, however, I failed the entry test, and I didn't try again until a couple of months ago.

My first batch were rejected, however, a few days later, I was accepted.  Since then, I have been gradually adding images, and at the moment, I have 262 images on sale.  I still have around 1800 images to upload and submit.

After reading some of the forum posts on this site, I was not expecting to achieve a sale until I had most of my portfolio on the site, and I then gathered it could take some time to achieve a sale.

However, today, I had my first sale!  What a great surprise!  After commission, I received $69.21 for this image!  I'm totally thrilled!

Mostphotos.com / Surprised!
« on: February 07, 2012, 03:08 »
I uploaded my portfolio to Mostphotos a couple of weeks ago.

I have to admit I am not expecting any great sales from the site.  However, in the past two days I've had two sales...one for 1.50Euro and one for $3.00Euros.

If sales like that keep happening each day, this site will easily out-perform a number of the other sites that I upload to!

I've got my fingers crossed that it's just not a fluke!!! :)

Veer / Missing Funds
« on: January 17, 2012, 02:53 »
At the end of December I had over $100.00 in my account.

On the 1st of January it disappeared, and went back to zero.

The missing amount is not listed under the 'Pending Payment' heading, however, in the 'Click to Show Payment History', it shows the amount was paid on the 13th of January.  So far, it has not lodged in my PayPal account.

Is this normal? Have others had this happen to them?

I sent the site an e-mail, and I received a standard reply within seconds, stating 'Our office will be closed January 2nd for New Years Holiday. Responses may be delayed a bit longer than usual'  Perhaps someone should notify them that it is now the 17th of January!  :o

New Sites - General / Anthing Happening at Zoonar?
« on: January 09, 2012, 20:28 »
I joined Zoonar during back in April, 2010, when they were paying people to upload onto the site.  I received the payment for the uploaded images, and after that, every few months, I received a payout.

Sales almost came to a stop after January 2010, and between then and November, 2011, I had three sales.  Since October, I have not had a single sale.  Is it just me, or are others having the same experience?

Envato / Missing Sample Images
« on: October 28, 2011, 05:01 »
I registered on this site on the 21st of October and immediately uploaded the 10 required sample images.  At the time of uploading these images, I notified the inspectors that I uploaded my images to 15 other microstock photography sites.

Within two days, my 10 sample photos had disappeared.  I contacted support to notify them of this situation and 24 hours later I received an e-mail from the site requesting me to upload another 10 images.  I did this 24 hours ago and, once again, today, the 10 sample images have disappeared.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Cheers

Phil

New Sites - General / Sales on Zoonar?
« on: July 01, 2011, 04:17 »
Is anybody having sales on Zoonar?

I was receiving a steady flow of sales each month until the 4th of March, this year.

Since that day, I have not had one sale.

Has this happened to anybody else?

I uploaded 20 editorial images to iStock on the 26th of March.  Today, some 19 days later, 13 of them were inspected.  To my surprise, all of these 13 images were rejected.  The photos were all taken at the 'No Carbon Tax' rally, which was held in Canberra, on the 23rd of March.  I thought I had followed all of iStock's requirements for describing editorial images correctly...in fact, I spent quite a bit of time reading up how they wanted everything set out and done.

Some of the images were rejected for this reason:

The main subject of this image appears to be a known person whose likeness may be protected or cannot be licensed for royalty-free use, including editorial

Well, yes, these images do contain known persons......they are Australian politicians, on stage, addressing the 'No Carbon Tax' rally.   Here is one of the images that were rejected for this reason: http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photography-no-carbon-tax-rally-image18918772

The other batch of images were rejected for this reason:

**Please provide a descriptive caption that explains who is in the photo.

The caption information for this submission is either too brief and does not describe the scene successfully, or it is unclear, or both. The caption is where you supply the 4 W's: Where was the image made? When was the image made? Who or what is in the image? What is happening in the image? Please provide adequate information, clearly, and entirely in English.

Please provide captions in this format:

City, Country - Month Date, Year: Caption descriptive text.

and.........

here is what I provided with the image:

Canberra, Australia - March 23, 2011: No Carbon Tax Rally, 23 March, 2011, Canberra, Australia

Description:

Here is one of the images that was rejected for this reason: http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-images-no-carbon-tax-rally-image18918009

I'm just not sure how to placate iStock's inspectors.  Is it me that's got it all wrong, or is it them?

Oh, and by the way, all of these images have been accepted as editorial content on Dreamstime, Shutterstock, Featurepics, Scanstockphoto, Panthermedia, and 123RF.  They have been online on some of these sites for over two weeks!

StockFresh / What???? Lots of image rejections
« on: February 13, 2011, 07:39 »
I applied to join Stockfresh around last June.  I was finally accepted around last October.

Due to work committments, I  have not had the time to upload around 1700 of my images.  However, in the last few days, I uploaded them all, and then started moving over 25 per day, which is the maximum permitted in each 24-hour period.

Within a few hours of moving them across, they were inspected.  To my great disappointment, out of the first batch of images, 28 were rejected, and 21 were accepted...one didn't upload properly, so I deleted it.  So far, that's less than a 50% acceptance rate.....way below every other of the 13 sites that I upload to.  I expected some rejections...each site has different requirements and standards, but not this many!

One of the images rejected is my best seller on iStock.  See here: http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-photo-5642037-air-conditioning-ducts.php  The image has sold 297 times on the site, and earned me around $300.00US.  It's also a good seller on some other sites.  If that wasn't enough, another of the rejections has sold 42 times on iStock.

Are other people having the same experience?

I don't intend to waste my time moving any more across, if this is how it's going to be, and I wrote and told Peter that.

admin edit: changed the subject to be more descriptive.

iStockPhoto.com / Is it Just Me?
« on: June 22, 2010, 01:49 »
For the last few months, I've been averaging sales of around $120.00 on iStock each month.  So far, this month, I've only had sales of $38.00.

Is it just me, or are there others who are experiencing a downturn in sales?

If so, what's the sales like?

PicNiche Toolbar / picNiche Pollers
« on: May 25, 2010, 08:03 »
I notice that there is not a picNiche poller available for ScandinavianStockPhoto or Zoonar.

I have no idea how to get a poller up and running for those two sites.  Does anybody know how to get a poller up and running for these two sites?

ScandinavianStockPhoto.com / Is it Worth a Try?
« on: May 25, 2010, 06:34 »
I'm just wondering if it's worth uploading to this site.

I've joined up, uploaded my model releases, and I've been sent the FTP details via e-mail.

I haven't started uploading yet, and before I do, I'd like to hear some 'recent' feedback about the site.

Is anybody having sales on this site?

Veer / Veer - Dash For Cash - Inspection Time
« on: May 13, 2010, 07:30 »
Just wondering........

Has anyone with images submitted either on or after the 5th of May had them inspected as yet?

I submitted 100 on the 5th, and another 100 yesterday.   As yet, I haven't had any inspected.

Off Topic / Magazine Front Cover
« on: May 01, 2010, 03:57 »
Pardon me for bragging, but I'm pretty happy! :)

A regional wedding magazine, here in Australia, has used one of my photos for the front cover.

The editor also used a few of my photos on the inside front cover as well, however, I'm not all that happy with the quality of their reproduction. You can see them by clicking the arrow on the right-hand side of the front cover image.

CanStockPhoto.com / CanStockPhoto Sales Picking Up!
« on: April 29, 2010, 01:59 »
I don't know how the rest of you are all going on CanStockPhoto but, for me, sales have really started to pick up!

I've had two decent-sized sales during April....one for $26.06 and another for $19.80.  On top of that I had quite a few subscription and guest sales.  Let's hope this is a sign of things to come! :)
