iStockPhoto.com / Adding keywords in bulk
« on: December 20, 2012, 11:34 »
Let say I have a few dozen photos already on in my portfolio I wish to add a specific keyword to, is there a way to do this in bulk or must I do this one by one ?

iStockPhoto.com / More trouble from our dear Istockphoto

I quote:
New Editorial Content
We've been working hard on increasing our new editorial images collection over the last number of months. The traffic and buzz are growing, but we want to grow faster, and make the files easier to find.

New Content
Our product shots are already a great success for us. What we're quickly learning is that we need a much more complete offering to truly be competitive in the editorial space. In order to attract more of the non-creative users like media, publishers and bloggers, and properly assert ourselves in this marketplace, we need to add more traditional editorial content.

On June 9th we are planning to add a collection of news, location and entertainment images from Getty Images photographers. You're going to see unreleased images of famous people and iconic locations on iStock for the first time ever. By adding this content we hope to draw more attention from traditional consumers of editorial imagery.

At the outset we said we would be leaving politicians and celebrities to our colleagues at Getty Images and that is still the case. These images were all taken by accredited photographers who had the access and permission to obtain them. If you feel that you could obtain the kind of access and permission to shoot similar work, we encourage you to start the process of applying with the proper channels at Getty Images. You can get the ball rolling by sending an email to [email protected].

There is still no plan to get into current, timely news none of the new content we are adding will be more recent than 180 days.

These new editorial files will all be in a single contributor portfolio called EdStock. On a technical note, we will be dating these files so that our system recognizes their original creation date, and not the date they are uploaded to iStock. This is being done to ensure that these new files do not dominate our Best Match sort en masse.

General Stock Discussion / April 2011 Stats
« on: May 01, 2011, 02:01 »
Another month another stat thread.
Our stats:

IS exclusives at 25%
Over 2,000 photos
370 sales + 2 EL's
BME - 1,120$
Up 15% from march 2011
Up 1,078% from march 2010

Things slowed down towards the end of the month, maybe because of easter ??
I wish they post the RC targets already...  Expecting a bump to 30% in 7-8 days if they stay the same as last year.

I have noticed that recently a number of non-exclusive contributors are uploading hunderds of photos without the usual IS upload limits.
At there current canister level they shouldn't be able to upload more then 18 a week!

An example to some of these contrubutors are:

Does anybody have any explaination for this ?

iStockPhoto.com / Submitting to other sites while IS exclusive
« on: October 08, 2010, 06:36 »
I know we can submit to Alamy files as RM for example.
Are there other sites that we could upload our port to without breaking the exclusivity agreement ?

iStockPhoto.com / Looking to purchase Istock portfolios.
« on: September 25, 2010, 04:43 »
Well the subject says it all.
I am looking into buying complete portfolios on Istock, preferably from exclusives (makes it simpler).
If anyone here has an offer (or knows someone who does) don't be shy :)
