Not sure how many of you have seen that the Getty Images, 500px, Corbis, Arcaid and many other collections https://www.vcg.com/creative/brands are now up for sale on the vcg.com site.

On every image:
1. the contributors name is missing (replaced with an ID)
2. the EXIF information is wiped (from date to camera name to copyright information)
3. the copyright is attributed to '1995- 2018 vision China '

Since when is legal to do this? As far as I know the contributor is the author and the copyright holder, not the distributing company.

iStockPhoto.com / 7th day without a download
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:12 »
It has never happened in the past 4 years to have a streak of more than 2 days without a download, now is the 7th day. I know the new design layout was introduced a week ago. Is this the reason?

Is anyone else encountering the same?

iStockPhoto.com / Classic view is gone
« on: July 27, 2016, 00:10 »
A 'nice' surprise this morning... classic view is gone! I can't even sort my portfolio by new or most popular The essential and signature views are also broken. Only the best match view is what it works.

Alamy.com / Alamy withholding payment
« on: December 11, 2015, 07:33 »
Hi,

Alamy hasn't send me the $$$ this month, because apparently the client hasn't paid for the images which have been purchased in October, almost 2 months ago.

Is this the new business model? Photographers lending money to agency and clients?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

iStockPhoto.com / Istock is hacked?
« on: November 29, 2012, 13:07 »

Hello, I am following the forum for a while greetings to everyone!

A post with a similar subject "Istock is hacked" appeared on the istock forums few days ago. This thread is not live anymore, it was quickly deleted, despite several people answered to it. Someone was saying he registered on istockresseller to see if they have our non-watermarked files on their servers.

I decided to check out that as well, so here is my experience:
_I registered with istockresseller and received a $2 bonus within 1 hour of registration.
_with that $2 bonus I was able to purchase and download from their site an xsmall non-watermarked image of one of my files which I uploaded to istock only few days ago.
_the purchase instantly appeared on my istock account as an xxl file download and the royalty received was $11.

I double checked the sale with istock's customer support and they said the download and the received royalty is correct.

How is that istockresseller got hold of non-watermarked images? Shouldn't we get protection for our images on istock? Does Istock really do not know that their website is hacked? I am wondering what is happening here?

Any ideas on what to do? I feel robbed.

Thanks.
