Cameras / Lenses / LG G2 good for microstock ?
« on: October 12, 2014, 13:00 »
Hello. I just submitted earlier a photo taken with my LG G2 smartphone and submitted to Shutterstock. It has a good camera and images are sharp and clear like most photos shooted with high end smartphone cameras. Was it a good ideea to submit it to Shutterstock? Will they aprove smartphone photos or I should delete the file before the inspection?

Shutterstock.com / resubmit approved file
« on: April 26, 2014, 08:23 »
Today I opened one of my files that I submitted in the past to Shutterstock and I discovered some aesthetical problems. I fixed and now I plan to delete the file from Shutterstock and resubmit it with a note to reviewer explaining that I want to replace the file from the site with the file that I fixed. Is it okay to delete it and then resubmit with a note to reviewer or just leave it for the reviewer as a proof and let him delete it?

Illustration - General / Worth it or not?
« on: December 04, 2013, 04:19 »
As a illustrator / vector artist I upload my vector files to these agencies : shutterstock, dreamstime, istockphoto, fotolia, depositphotos, bigstockphoto, graphicriver, cutcaster, stockfresh, canstockphoto, 123 rf. As a beginer I need an advice. Are all these agencies worth the time or I should stick only  with the top 4 for example?

Number of microstock agencies you work with as an illustrator / vector artist. Be honest.

Shutterstock.com / Poorly isolated elements
« on: December 04, 2013, 00:55 »
I tried some days ago to submit a raster version of an approved vector and today I got the confirmation email : "Image and/ or elements of  image have  been poorly
isolated." I don't understand what's the problem since I uploaded many rastered versions in the past that got accepted, and they were all isolated on white background. And this file is no different from the rest. It's just a flower isolated on white background.

Newbie Discussion / canon 1100d triple kit, worth it or not?
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:40 »
Today I saw at some online market a Canon 1100d limited promotion that contains Canon EOS 1100D body +  18-55mm DC + 75-300mm DC + EF 50mm f/1.8. Is it worth it for microstock ?

Print on Demand Forum / marketplace or store?
« on: November 13, 2013, 06:31 »
I have 2 accounts, one on zazzle and one on cafepress. I am a newbie and I have some questions:
1. Can I sell only in marketplace without creating a store?
2. Which way is more productive? Having products spread in the marketplace or having them only in one place, the store?
3. If I create and sell products only in customized store, those products will appear in searches on marketplace or I am on my own, invisible to the eyes of the buyers till I do some promotion and stuff?

Shutterstock.com / resubmision of approved files
« on: November 12, 2013, 15:41 »
A week ago I uploaded a few raster images of my approved vector files and they were accepted and added to my port. Some days later I discovered that these raster images had some weird white hairline on the edges of shapes that are only visible when zoom in,some kind of gaps. I remembered that I created this files in Photoshop by opening my eps files and then convert to jpg. Soon I discovered on many forums that the problem is popular among photoshop cs6 users. There was a fix in that,to save the rastered versions in illustrator to prevent those white tiny lines to appear. Today I deleted the problematic files from my port and uploaded the good versions in respect for the buyers and site quality standards. I also added a note to reviewer to ewplain this situation. Will I get a warning or suspension for resubmiting approved files?

What is the best method to create seamless patterns that can be accepted on most microstock agencies?

Hello everyone. I have a question regarding naming some files in my portofolio. I have a couple of vector files from same series ( 5 vector packs with 10 floral elements each ). They are almost the same regarding style,colur,etc... Could I copy/paste the title, desription and keywords and add this to all my 5 vector packs from the same series? Is it a bad thing,a reason for rejection? At Istock I tried to submit them like this : "Floral elements set 1, Floral elements set 2..." and got a rejection. They said to add more clear description to title and description for their search engine and for the customer to be able to find them. Any advices?

General Stock Discussion / selling logos, worth it or not?
« on: November 01, 2013, 13:11 »
I am a vector artist and I sell my works at some microstock agencies. I wondered if is worth to try to expand a little and try to create and sell logos. I've seen on stocklogos.com that these logos are sold for pretty good money. Is it worth the time? Are there any buyers to pay those prices?

DepositPhotos / saving files problem
« on: October 24, 2013, 13:26 »
Hi everyone. Today I logged in my DP account and tried to modify the title and description on one of my files add some keywords and when I pushed the save button it didn`t worked. I logged in several times, cleaned the cache, logged in from another browser, even from the phone. Still the same problem. The save button from "Online Files" doesn`t process the command, it doesn`t save any changes. Has anyone encountered such problems? Thank you.
