Has anyone else had this issue.

I started using the Adobe Stock interface the past few days.  Previously I used Fotolia.
Once an image uploads, I am often getting thrown to this page which talks about submission guidelines.

The problem is that my images do not have the problems they identify on that page.  I do not get it.
1. No identical files-- if the main subject matter same, I am careful to make sure they are different.  If an animal-- animal doing something different/different place.  If food, different food state or process.  Etc etc
2.  Not copied.  I never bother to look at other photographer's work.  I even went to check to see what other files were available on AS for a certain subject after getting this message-- none!
3.  Not public domain -- my own work.
4.  NOT  infringing, illegal, or pornographic content
No issues with keywording because site takes me to that page before I even keyword.  Image itself not grabbed at end.  Not a matter of size or image type either. No need for model or property release (again, not grabbed before I could attach one anyhow).

I notice that the automatic keywording often misidentifies the subject even if it gets category right so I am wondering if that is an issue.  Food photos often include similar things as in dishware or flatware even when different food itself/different composition.  Wondering if that triggers the move to this page.

Anyhow, is anyone else having this issue?  I am frustrated.  One new image I never got to upload-- SS sales immediately.  Would be nicer to get higher commission on AS.  If there is something wrong, I cannot figure it out.  Never had this issue with FT uploading.

Shutterstock.com / Uploading bug?

Anyone having issues tonight uploading images to SS?  I keep getting message that image did not load/transfer.  Nothing wrong from my side.

Shutterstock.com / Shutterstock contributor side down?
« on: October 13, 2018, 23:53 »
Anyone else unable to download Shutterstock contributor URL?  Buyer side seems to be working.

I fell hard down a flight of stairs or weekend. Fortunately nothing broken and rotator cuff ok according to dr.  Feet and leg better but my right arm and shoulder are in excruciating pain.  Cannot hold medium-heavy things. Range of motion not much though slowly improving.

Any ideas how to hold and use camera?  Tripod head with camera too heavy to control now.  Having my husband play assistant would not be fun.

Only need something temporary so do not want to spend a lot of money.  Need to photograph something Monday.

Adobe Stock / Suddenly cannot log into Fotolia side
« on: November 19, 2017, 12:35 »
I prefer to upload via Fotolia side.
Today I am having to log into every website everywhere, I assume because of a browser update.
Using old links to indexing page on Fotolia, it still takes me to this Adobe pop up.  Grr.  Thee seems to be no way to get signed into the Fotolia side.  If anyone has ideas, I woyld appreciate it.  I prefer the Fotolia interface.

Alamy.com / RM versus RM Exclusive
« on: October 14, 2017, 18:32 »
If I choose RM exclusive on Alamy,
does this mean that I cannot make art prints for individuals?
Does it mean that I cannot sell it to 1 magazine from my own contact and not through stock?
Does it mean I cannot put it in gallery art shows or enter it into photo contests?

I have a couple of images that are unique.  So far there are no images of this on internet and none at microstock agencies.  I do not want to sell it though microstock.

Should I just do RM non-exclusive?  I do not want to lock myself out of his one magazine using it.  Subject is close to my heart as is organization's magazine.  Niche but they have used some of my others for educational purposes.

I asked Alamy the difference but the answer I got did not really clarify.

I am curious to know if anyone else in Western US has been having issues photographing non-fire photos outdoors with all the smoke and haze from the wildfires.

Some photos are ok--  slight change in white balance etc corrects it.  Others I need to just reject because the smoke and haze make things look odd-- but not odd enough to be part of the image.  So weird to have good exposures etc but the subject looks off.

General Stock Discussion / Similar image-- not
« on: June 07, 2017, 15:39 »
Today I has an image rejected as being a similar image.  The image was not similar to my own in subject matter, composition or light submitted at same time or ever. Checked that they have too.  It is not similar to images by others with agency and the lighting on mine is nicer than most there.

Annoyed. Oh, fine... that agency loses the image and others have it for sale instead.  Move on and work on other images.  What X rejects will sell on Y.   Typically I just move on but this time I knew I could actually check.

Are there any agencies that penalize you for resubmitting?  Normally I do not bother.. but this time might be worth it.

Adobe Stock / ID Request
« on: June 07, 2017, 12:05 »
I tried uploading some images directly to Adobe instead of through fotolia.

Now I am getting an email asking for a government ID- should not his have been done when I synched the accts?  Is this a scam/hack email?

General Stock Discussion / Wood grain
« on: February 14, 2017, 22:57 »
Wood grain is not the same thing as grain noise.

Grain was the tern used in BW film photo, generally from film shot at high ASA.
Digital photos shot with low ISO (200 ISO or below) in lower contrast light with no shadows or dark areas and no PS manipulation other than to remove dust spot -- not noisy.

At least it was a rejection that made me laugh.  Oh well.

I have reached a point where I am starting to see rejections for lack of commercial appeal of aesthetic appeal or whatever as a plus... because those rejections are almost a guarantee that the photo will sell with a different agency.  Seriously.

Already sold one today before it was rejected elsewhere today for that reason.  Seems happen quite frequently.

iStockPhoto.com / How to find sales for specific image?
« on: October 13, 2016, 21:22 »
Does anyone know a fat way to see if sales number for a particular image?  I discovered one of my images on a website article.  It has a tiny Istock watermark at corner, not the watermark that is all over the image.  The usage editorial was correct.  I am trying to weave my way though all the sales data to see if paid for but a bit overwhelmed by all the categories.  Just want to know whether to be happy (sold) or report website.

I am having trouble after uploading images to SS via web (not ftp).  They upload, then when I go to press the next button, 0 images there.  It keeps happening and unable to get to keywording part so far.

Anyone else?

iStockPhoto.com / Uploading errors-- busted image icon
« on: September 15, 2016, 11:46 »

General Stock Discussion / Logos
« on: July 26, 2016, 15:42 »
Is it ok to sell images with a logo if the owner of company oks logo being used and signs property release?

Medical device company verbally oked me using and selling photos with device and I am gong to mail them property release forms before actually doing it.  Probably will remove logo anyhow to make the photo for more general usage but sometimes,  the photos look better with the logo than with it removed.

iStockPhoto.com / Payment for last month not arrived yet
« on: April 28, 2016, 12:21 »
I am due to be paid this month.  Made the cut off, money was withdrawn from balance at beginning of the month.  In one place they say payment on the 20th give or take and another place around the 25th.  Still no payment in Paypal.  I now it is automatic.  I did the tax info right.  So now what?

Bigstock.com / not uploading
« on: April 11, 2016, 21:43 »
Anyone else having issues uploading to BS?

I upload my image and ten nothing happens.  Nothing in the place to edit and submit.  I have not reached my limit of submissions based on approval rating.

I wish they would fix this.

Shutterstock.com / How to do editorials on SS
« on: April 09, 2016, 10:39 »
So SS accepted my credentials and now I have to upload my first batch of editorial images.

They told me to upload everything in one batch and then put a note to reviewer with number of my credentials for whole batch.  Will there be a drop down menu for this with a place to enter the number?  When I upload commercially, there is a drop down menu to go to reviewer but option is limited and allows one not to say anything.

I am not FTPing images but using web to upload at this point.

General Photography Discussion / Red Bubble FAA or Zazzle
« on: April 06, 2016, 14:41 »
Which place does the best quality prints: Red Bubble, Zazzle or FAA?

I did a bunch of photos of a sporting event and some of the people there want prints.  The custom lab where I used to do all my art printing closed down so just want an easy place to send them that won't do shoddy prints.

General Stock Discussion / Editorial credentials
« on: March 24, 2016, 18:34 »
Does anyone have a link to a generic PDF file we can use for getting a club to sign off for editorial credentials for their events?

iStockPhoto.com / probem with log in
« on: March 17, 2016, 11:39 »
In case anyone else is wondering, I-stock is having issues with log in on site right now --  it is on their end not ours according to what they said via phone.  They hope to fix it soon and said do not try to reset passwords etc and keep trying-- will notify people via twitter and other places when fixed.

Bigstock.com / Bigstock keywording format changed
« on: March 15, 2016, 17:14 »
Anyone else notice that keywording for Bigstock hanged in the middle of today?  They cut out the description line and it looks a lot more like SS actually.

General - Top Sites / Property Release on Alamy
« on: March 10, 2016, 15:17 »
Part of the property release on Alamy says:

I agree that I have received Consideration of (insert monetary value)..........................................................
.................................... for the rights granted in this
release. I acknowledge and agree that I have no further right to additional Consideration or accounting,

Do we have to fill in a number here in a number here if 0 money passed hands (like if property belongs to photographer, family or friend  and there is no expectation of getting paid like with paid models.

Adobe Stock / Weird review times at Fotolia
« on: March 06, 2016, 15:39 »
Has anyone gotten some weird delay in review process at Fotolia?  I am getting some images accepted/rejected later than a series of more recent images..weeks.  Very odd.

Adobe Stock / Similars
« on: February 22, 2016, 15:58 »
Now that I see some accounts have been blocked on Fotolia for too many similars, I guess I have questions about what is too similar?

If you photograph food, must the plates/glasses etc be different all the time even if the food is different?
If you photograph particular animals a lot?  As a photographer this is what interests me..  so some are different seasons, usually different because I get bored if I feel I am just doing the same image.
If you photograph sports (animals), is it enough to have different dogs or if the same animal, different sports/equipment?
Etc etc....

I wish I could look at my entire portfolio there with a putting that had bigger images-- I am getting near-sighted as well as horribly near-sighted and it is almost impossible for me to see what is already there by looking at these tiny images under my files.

I generally use my own boredom as a rule but like this site because I feel like the images that get accepted and that sell there are closer to what I want to do as an artist than some of the other websites where I feel like I have to fit into their look....so want to avoid trouble while continuing to photograph what I really love to photograph.  Don't want to mess that up.
